Thanks to some suspension adjustments and 40 more horsepower, the 2009 and later WRX are a lot sportier to drive than the 2008 model we said had become too bland. Dynamically, the 2009 WRX became more entertaining. It's quicker and more agile -- with responsive, well-weighted steering and excellent brakes. The WRX also has a usable rear seat, something many sporty cars lack. The uplevel 305-hp STi version is a more hard-core driving machine, but most driving enthusiasts will find the WRX is a more well-rounded package and more affordable.
