2011 Subaru Impreza Owner Satisfaction - Consumer Reports
The Impreza is a pleasant and practical car with the most comfortable ride of any small car we'd tested up to that point. This revsed version brought more rear-seat room, a quieter cabin and better fit and finish than the previous model. While its handling was still fairly agile, this Impreza wasn't as sporty to drive as its predecessor.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Owner Satisfaction with:

Driving Experience

Includes acceleration and handling

What Owners Say

"ALTHOUGH THIS ENGINE HAS A LARGER DISPLACEMENT AND GREATER HORSEPOWER THAN MANY COMPACTS IT CAN BE SLUGGISH WHICH SCARES ME ABOUT THE 2017 SUBARU'S PERFORMANCE WHICH HAS A MUCH SMALLER ENGINE. MY OLD MAZDA 3 WAS PEPPIER"

Peter H., BC (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Excellent acceleration. It sits low so "hugs" the road when turning. All-wheel drive feature is useful in winter driving in New England."

Thomas P., NH (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Poor transition shifting"

Anonymous, NY (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Smooth transmission"

Alan M., OH (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Nice ride, handles good and fine winter driver as well."

Anonymous, SD (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"handles extremely well. acceleration is good."

Wendy R., AB (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Acceleration is kind of weak."

James D., CO (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Average acceleration and handling. Very tall gearing in 4 speed automatic. Good road grip and traction. Excellent in foul weather."

Anonymous, MI (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"The drive in normal conditions is very good, the drive in snow and ice (with winter tires) is outstanding. Short of switching over to a snowmobile, there is no better way to get through treacherous weather."

Anonymous, MI (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"good acceleration easy to drive comfortable"

Anonymous, NC (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Very hard on gas although stable and decent pickup"

RICK H., NL (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"gutless at highway speeds"

ROGER C., ON (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"very comfortable. really nice to drive. very responsive"

Anonymous, AB (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Drive tracking is odd--hard to keep it in the lane. Very hard to back up. Visibility is poor."

Thomas W., MN (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Responsive and reliable"

Henry B., VA (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"this is my first all wheel drive vehicle and driving it gives me a greater feeling of confidence and control when driving. I have found the most important part of driving is good tires. I use snow tires in winter and all season the rest of the year."

Anonymous, NY (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"This car, with its turbocharged AND supercharged engine, and Polestar engine and transmission tuning, is extremely responsive and very quick. The handling in this vehicle is also very good, and provides a great feeling of security while driving."

Douglas M., PA (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Our Subaru Impreza has handled winter conditions extremely well --including when we lived in a small town outside of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Johnstown and the vicinity are snow country! The Impreza handled even the worst blizzard conditions with no problem!"

Michael F., PA (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"It handles well. I like the steering feedback. Most newer cars do not have the level of feedback. Acceleration is acceptable. The transmission is dated but I would not trade it for a CVT. I like that I feel very connected to the car and the road."

Robert K., IL (2011 Subaru Impreza)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"It's an okay ride. The headrest angles forward so that at comfortable seat back, the headrest presses into my head. That means I have to keep my seat one notch back which is not good for long drives. The mirrors are useless for backing up since objects appear closer than they are."

Anonymous, WA (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"The passenger's seat is very uncomfortable. Almost like sitting on wood."

Anonymous, OK (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Very uncomfortable seating. Too low to the ground. Will never get another Subaru."

Raymond L., NL (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"SEATS ARE COMFORTABLE ON LONG DRIVES ALTHOUGH MANUAL AND NOT COOLED.. GETTING IN AND OUT OF CAR CAN BE CHALLENGING FOR SOME AS THEY SIT LOW"

Peter H., BC (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Hard to get in an out of this car if you are older and heavier. Not a lot of room for a bigger person"

CURT S., WY (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Good - Driver position, legroom, Visibility"

Anonymous, MD (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Very good. Particularly like fold down seats"

JEFF W., KS (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"NVH Mostly Tire noise"

JIM S., PA (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Passenger seat is very low and uncomfortable - difficult on loner drives"

ANN G., NY (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"The driver seat is too low: I can't really see where I am going without a booster pillow."

Anonymous, UT (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Bue tooth cuts out all the time and have to reset/repair device. I quit using the bluetooth feature"

Anonymous, WA (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"heated seats. comfortable seats. good ride. good outside noise level"

Anonymous, AB (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Suspension is too hard. Seats are not comfortable."

Anonymous, ON (2011 Subaru Impreza)

R L., NY (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"all 4 wheel drive, amazing amount of room to haul, fair road noise, when A/C on it has poor acceleration, good highway gas mpg,"

PAUL M., MN (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"The dealer refused to negotiate/budge in price and it was presented as a "take it or leave it" price. Seemed like they didn't care if we bought there or not."

"Ease of driving"

M B., NJ (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"Reliable car for picking up our various sets of grandchildren and taking them on their appointments"

A M., CT (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"blind side monitoring. back up camera"

Anonymous, AB (2011 Subaru Impreza)

Anonymous, WA (2011 Subaru Impreza)

"I was surprised at the need to replace the complete braking system at all four wheels,, not just pads. Also we had the throw-out bearing fail and therefore $2,000 in manual transmission repairs."

Anonymous, MA (2011 Subaru Impreza)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"The electronics and the dashboard functions are not as easy to use or as updated as with cars like Honda or Toyota. I have no co.plants about the look of Subarus"
