A comfortable ride, responsive handling, good visibility, simple controls, and a relatively spacious rear seat all combine to make the Impreza easy to live with. The hatchback's cargo versatility gives it an edge in practicality over the sedan version. Sport models come with snazzy wheels and a bit more equipment than more basic Imprezas.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

What Owners Say

"It handles like a sports car. Acceleration is sufficient."

Peter M., NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"my subaru is responsive and with decent acceleration the continuous auto trans is noisy. it maneuvers easily and with good stopping power. it can handle all weather conditions with confidence"

Will E., IL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Very agile!"

Anonymous, IN (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Handling is great, acceleration not so much, but good enough."

Anonymous, IL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Very peppy on acceleration"

Anonymous, FL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Good acceleration and very comfortable driving."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The acceleration is very poor."

Trudy M., PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"handles curves beautifully and snow even better"

Augie R., NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The acceleration with the CVT leaves a lot to be desired. It is makes a lot of noise but doesn't accelerate very well."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Brisk acceleration, good for passing, getting thru intersections, turns corners sharply"

Anonymous, DC (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Considering it has a relatively small engine and gets excellent gas mileage, acceleration is very quick and responsive which helps in getting out of potentially dangerous situations. Handling is also good."

Elaine G., NM (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"very poor acceleration and responsiveness"

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"For a small car, it has great pick up"

Susan S., NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"it's okay"

Anonymous, OK (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"It is slow but handling is very good. Enjoyable overall"

Kostadin D., CO (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The handling is quite good. Subaru had done a good job in giving the electric steering a "hydraulic" feel. My car comes with a 5-sp manual. The 2.0 boxer is low on low-end torque, so I need to work with stick pretty hard to get merge safely. Power is ultimately sufficient. The gear ratios are also not ideal. The fifth gear is way too tall, making it basically useless in city traffic."

Anonymous, ON (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Under-powered. Understand that gas consumption is the main reason, but wish it had a little more power."

David M., ON (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Acceleration and handling is very good"

Anonymous, ON (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"AWD handling and performance."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"low ground clearance with regard to snow piles."

Ronald C., NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Winter and wet road conditions handling is superb"

Anonymous, OH (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Extremely responsive to the accelerator with lots of pep and best steering auto I've ever owned over the past 60 years of driving"

Henry B., VA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"good acceleration in city driving, accurate handling"

Anonymous, SK (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Acceleration is truly excellent, which is not always a good thing. Handling is superb. A very light touch is needed on the accelerator; otherwize, traffic speeding tickets accumulate."

Colin A., MD (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Excellent handling"

S V., AB (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Acceleration is quite leisurely unless pedal is pressed substantially; then the noise level becomes excessive. Handling is generally satisfying but steering tends to drift to the right and when corrected then it tends to tug to the left. The alignment has been checked twice including once by the Subaru dealer and is within factory specifications."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The combination of engine and transmission provides responsive and smooth acceleration from a start and, at highway speeds, as needed for safe passing. Steering and speed control are well controlled for driving on rural Maine roads, in all kinds of weather."

Donald N., ME (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Lack of acceleration and handling. Car is not 'fun' to drive"

Anonymous, NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Accelerates quickly when necessary. CVT is very quiet in city driving. Drives well in wind and rain."

Anonymous, MN (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"CVT is terrible. Infinite gears and always seems to be in the wrong one. Often revs very high when starting, then with gas pedal at same spot the RPMs drop by 1500 RPM and motor almost lugs. Paddle shifters help a bit but the gears they chose are based on speed the car is going, not any fixed ratio."

Richard P., PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"when necessary, it can accelerate very well when entering the freeway, etc"

Scott F., CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Acceleration is excellent and am well satisfied with its handling! Admittedly, though, its ride is not like the heavier Outback. But then I don't expect it to be. It's a lighter car."

David H., NH (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"It doesn’t have the power or acceleration that I expected and the gas mileage is significantly lower than the EPA rating."

Mark R., CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Handling is excellent. Acceleration is good, but I miss the way a non-Subaru transmission feels."

Robert T., CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I feel like I am driving a sports car, with great turning radius and excellent control with the all wheel drive."

Deborah E., NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Sharp cornering and handling in tight spaces. Easy to park. I purchased this car at my wife's insistence for her being handicapped and of short stature. Car sets low to the ground with low stepover entry."

Carl S., MO (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"very good acceleration, tight handling."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"There is a 1 second delay between depressing the accelerator and the car responding. It also takes a few seconds for the transmission to shift between reverse and drive. This is all still true after having part of the transmission rebuilt."

Anonymous, WY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Handles well"

Anonymous, CT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The acceleration is absolutely good enough for any use I've put it to. The handling, especially in the winter, is awesome. We will definitely be purchasing another Subaru in the next year or so. When you live in "snow belt country" this is just what you need."

Richard T., NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"When I slow down to a low speed, it shudders."

Anonymous, CT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Handling and acceleration is excellent. Gas mileage is very good."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Great handling, feels very secure. Good acceleration from standstill."

Linda F., CT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"This vehicle has averaged better than 30mpg since purchased new in 2013. Currently has over 85K miles. I keep track when I add fuel so this 30mpg number isn't a wild guess. I have owned over 20 autos and for an all around every day car this impreza is my favorite so far. It isn't super fast but is fast enough to get out of the way when need be. The CVT took some getting used to but I have gotten used to it. We also have a forester and love it too. The AC systems are not as cold as some ot..."

David K., PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Handles very well - cornering and bump absorption. Performance in deep snow (with snow tires installed) is the best of any car I have owned."

Scott P., NH (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Handles very well on the road. Very substantial feel on the steering wheel."

Anonymous, NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Acceleration is moderate, but handling is superior to the Subaru Forester XT, because the Impreza is closer to the ground and more stable."

Timothy G., AB (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"noisy acceleration"

James A., NC (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Acceleration could be improved. Pulling out onto a highway or merging does not feel confident."

Anonymous, PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The acceleration is quicker than I expected having gone from a WRX to a Limited hatchback model. The handling meets every expectation of a car in this class."

Michael H., MA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I was a little taken aback at the lack of get-up-and-go in sudden acceleration. I understand that has to do with the all-wheel-all-the-time drive, but it can make city driving a little tricky. Once at speed, it's great!"

A Y., FL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Almost all of my driving is highway driving. Accelerates and handles well. Good gas mileage for an all wheel drive car."

Anonymous, NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Excellent handling, acceleration a bit slow. It is fun to drive"

JOYCE K., DE (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Smooth acceleration without gear shifting noise is excellent in traffic and thruway driving!"

ETA H., PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Goes zoom zoom. Fast on acceleration and handling."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I love to drive and I take several trips a year of 500+ miles. This car handles very well--on mountain roads, on the highway, around town. I love it!"

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Really fun to drive"

Anonymous, ON (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"handles great but lacks power"

RICHARD C., PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The acceleration from a stopped position is almost too much. It really jumps off the line. But after that, it is rather punch-less. The CVT is smooth but it seems to limit the car's ability to drop-shift for acceleration. I'm still getting used to the paddle-shifters when in manual mode."

Anonymous, MN (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Surprising power for such a small engine. Car is nimble and quick."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I hate the environmental attachment as it interferes with acceleration when I merge on the interstate. The Sport/ manual shift is a wonderful option but much more functional on console as it used to be. It is hard to manage while turning or on a curve."

Anonymous, NM (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Slow acceleration."

E D., MN (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"My only complaint would be that it is loud when you accelerate from a stopped position, such as at a stoplight."

Anonymous, CO (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Gas pedal is too sensitive - takes OFF at the slightest touch on the gas pedal"

DOROTHY T., FL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The car is under powered."

BRUCE B., IN (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"It is the most stable car in the rain and snow that I have ever driven."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Handling is great, the best I've experienced; holds tight around quick curves. Acceleration from a stop could be better. I was a bit disappointed with it, but that is mostly because they kept referring to it as fun to drive, otherwise I would be fine with it. That being said, the highway acceleration is a different story. When already moving fast, acceleration is pretty nice; easy to pass."

ERIC G., MA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The engine RPM runs too high during acceleration, too much engine brake for down hill."

Anonymous, NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Great"

Anonymous, AR (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The transmission feels strange."

MICHAEL G., FL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"All wheel drive improves handling. 4 cylinder engines are so much better now days. Low mounting of engine improves cornering. Really nice car for city driving."

DAVID K., TX (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Needs more acceleration. It feels like the CVT doesn't allow fast enough acceleration in times of need such as merging onto a highway."

JEREMY W., PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Acceleration is poor. I have to really make sure I have enough extra time to accelerate when merging into traffic. It's the only thing that irritates me about the car. I used to have a car that was 5-speed, and had a bit more horsepower, so I may be skewed in that area."

TANI C., CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"slow acceleration; noisy interior while driving and noisy air conditioner. Excellent handling or ice and snow."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Superb handling and acceleration, feels very smooth like a luxury car"

ROBERT V., CT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Acceleration is more than adequate for normal (fuel efficient) driving and semi-emergent situations. I have been particularly impressed with the Inmprezza's handling on Maine secondary roads, with their combinations of twists, turns and hillocks, and on dirt roads in the North Maine Woods."

Anonymous, ME (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"It does well on corners; however it lacks power and has a serious delay between pedal depression and acceleration."

Anonymous, WY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"While handling is acceptable the CVT transmission feels like it is struggling whenever acceleration is required - there is an unsettling hesitation before it seems to kick in."

Anonymous, OH (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Subaru builds a very solid handling car......we have owned several....this one the 2013 Impreza Premium Sport has the CVT transmission and has the manual shift paddles on the steering wheel.....so it has the option of either full auto or manual......mostly use the full auto. Acceleration in the full auto position is different.....you cannot stomp on the accelerator and expect it to immediately react......however in manual....it does....and very positively! Steering, braking and AWD excellent...."

JOE C., WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"j love my Subaru it is easy to handle the dash is easy to see and the functions are easy to get too"

GOYA L., CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The CVT transmission accelerates slowly. It seems that is common for CVTs. Manual is faster but lower mpg."

ROBERT P., VT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Handling is good, with a precise feel. I don't like the "feel" of this CVT transmission, swings too easily to high RPMs. Updated versions have better feel, mimicking shift points and better RPM control."

Anonymous, MA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Handling satisfactory except for rough ride on bumpy roads."

Anonymous, IL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"My drivers seat is wearing out quicker then I expected. It has a big indent in the cushion on the side now where I can feel the plastic of the seat. I don't think I have done anything out of the ordinary."

Tina P., WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Very noisy with road noise."

Robert T., CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Good car, but way too much engine and road noise. I know newer models are better about this."

Kostadin D., CO (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Seat comfort is adequate. The vehicle is noisy. There is both a high level of engine noise with CVT and road/wind noise is surprisingly high. I find it bothersome on longer highway trips."

Anonymous, TX (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The car is extremely loud and badly in need of more sound insulation. Otherwise the seats and ride are satisfactory."

Jeffrey K., OR (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"My only issue is driving with the windows down can be very noisy, even when I try to cross-balance rear and front windows. Makes me resort to air conditioning more often than I would like."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"the seats are not comfortable on long trips."

Eileen U., VA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I've only owned three cars, but this one is the most fun to drive by far. It's incredibly quick and responsive, as well as really comfortable. It's great for long, multi-hour drives. That said, road noise is a serious issue (which I actually remember reading in CR before buying it). The heating/cooling also takes significantly longer than I'd expect to get cool/warm for a car this size."

James A., NC (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The car has dash rattles like nobody's business. I've had to have rattles fixed in both A pillars three times. The radio also rattles. Two different dealerships have tried to fix this and it still rattles. I finally had to wedge a credit card in the gap between the radio face and the dash to get it to stop."

Michelle S., CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Seats are comfortable. The driver seat provides good support in the corners"

Thomas L., CT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The seats are comfortable and the ride is as well. The car sits lower to the ground than I like personally. It is also noisy when you are driving. I think they have improved on this in newer models."

Michael C., OH (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I really wanted to love this car because I knew I would be spending a lot of time driving it in Orlando, but... it's somehow just not comfortable. I started having problems with plantar fasciitis in my left foot, if I don't drive for a week , it goes away. I have adjusted the seat many times, but it's not as adjustable as some and if I'm not careful, I can cause back problems with the wrong seat position. The doctor suggested that the car was too small for me (5'8" 160 lb woman). IDK. It's also..."

This replaced a 2002 Impreza Outback Sport we lost in Sandy which was much quieter than this one. Of course, on new pavement or blacktop it rides very quiet."

"The ride and handling are especially impressive; however, the seating positions are especially limited in the manual seats which only include forward-back, up-down, and recline adjustments, with no lumbar support--regardless of the trim model chosen."

TIGER D., UT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Vehicle transmits a lot of road/engine/transmission noise into the cabin especially at highway speed, Seats become tiring on long drives."

What Owners Say

"buying four tires is a pain and expensive"

Anonymous, OK (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"WE bought the top-of-the-line Subaru Impreza with leather upholstery and a sun roof. Before we bought the Subaru, we test drove the new Volvo. The Volvo had features comparable to the Subaru but with less interior space and a price tag that was $15K higher."

Thomas L., CT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Great features for a car well under 30,000. Everything except the hard to read control knobs on heat/a.c. has been better than expected. Reliability a bit shaky with a bad wheel bearing at 63,000 miles."

Anonymous, IL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"This car is an excellant people mover with a decent cargo capacity. Equiped with snow tires, it is almost unstopable in our northern NY winter, On the highway it does very well. It is much more capable than anythnig else in it's size catagory. This is our 7th Subaru and won't be our last."

Richard T., NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Ave value but is too low to ground"

Anonymous, ON (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The Subaru Impreza has generally worked well and been reliable. However we have not driven it a lot (mostly very short trips [< 4 miles]). We are especially gratified by the 4-wheel drive for driving on ice/snow."

Anonymous, WI (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"My Subaru has been an excellent value. It is now 5 years old with 72,000 miles on it but I've had no major mechanical problems. The body seems sound and has no rattles despite quite a bit of time being driven on rough mountain roads."

Neil M., WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"This is a great all-weather vehicle for a reasonable purchase price."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Perfect size and price for our lifestyle. Plenty of room when packing for travel. Drives well in all weather. Good price for us."

Anonymous, MN (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"It's very reliable which is my primary concern. It doesn't accelerate. Not responsive in that regard. It has squeaks every now and again."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"This is a solid reliable vehicle. The only complaint is road noise at highway speeds but that may be due to the tires."

Tom R., TN (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"AWD handling and performance."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Bought two Imprezas at the same time. Both running very well, both been in extreme hot and cold, working very well. Last problem still covered"

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"good value due to all wheel drive standard, reliable,"

Dan G., KY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Great gas mileage."

Anonymous, IL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Generally a good daily driver/workhorse. Body panels and paint are cheap though and it doesn't hold up well to the dings and scrapes of living in the city and it's roof was badly dinged when hail came through town."

Gabriel M., MA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Great price for the vehicle. If I could afford it, I'd prefer a more sporty model that hugs the road a bit better. I get nervous about flipping on sharp highway curves."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"the purchase price was reasonable; however, the fact that the car required a new transmission and clutch, with less than 70k miles on it is ridiculous. it also uses too much oil."

Anonymous, FL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Excellent overall value and quality. I have yet to need ANY service on this car besides schedule mainenance!"

Scott P., NH (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Worst car for expensive maintenance I've ever owned. It had become so unreliable, that I've stresse started renting cars for longer trips because I don't trust it will not break down."

Anonymous, WY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Drive before you buy! My dealership didn’t have one to test drive and I bought based on the previous year. The car looks sportier than it actually is."

Mark R., CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"A very reliable AWD auto at a fraction of most SUVs"

Anonymous, NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"All wheel drive is essential in the Northeast, as are heated seats, great resale value, great handling like a sporty car, and good gas mileage."

Deborah E., NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Excellent value for the money"

Anonymous, IL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"my subaru cost about 20,000 when I bought it. it came with power assists nice stereo, all wheel drive, alloy wheels and ground effects. It has been a great performer in all weather conditions. maintenance has been affordable and mpg very good."

Will E., IL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Excellent MPG always. Very good handling on the highway."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Great value for the money. Subaru is well-known for its dependability. Basic service needed but no horror stories. I would buy this car again."

Susan S., NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Had a 2000 E320 Mercedes before this and it was never reliable after the third year. The Subaru is always reliable for a similar driving experience."

Henry B., VA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"fuel mileage is very good. repair costs are zero. maintainence costs are very low too."

Anonymous, MI (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Reasonable price for the car. Main problem is the gas mileage on trips is not close to advertised. Around town it is pretty close to EPA. Much worse mileage in Winter."

Richard P., PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"My Subaru Impreza has had more issues in the first five years of ownership than either of my two previous vehicles had in the first ten years of ownership. The car has had issues with: upholstery pilling, backing up (shakes), usb connectivity, bluetooth connectivity, transmission (shook violently while idling - was repaired twice), burning oil (must add 2 qts between changes), and power windows."

Scott K., VA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Good performance, reliability, and AWD for a lower price point than a luxury brand"

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"We were happily surprised at how easy it is to drive, how responsive, comfortable, considering what we paid for it. We wish we had spent the extra thousands to get the built in backup camera and electronic seat controls."

Anonymous, MA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"It is very dependable. I have never had any issues mechanically"

Anonymous, ON (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I got a good deal on this car and it's a good basic, reliable vehicle."

Anonymous, OR (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Good and gas mileage. To do over again I would have bought the crosstek because of the roof rack, greater clearance, and tow package."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Solid, well-functioning car. Subaru keeps the price of their vehicles down by staying away from cutting-edge electronics."

Anonymous, IN (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"It's inexpensive and reliable, so good value. The payback is with its poor creature comforts."

Phil N., NV (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Subarus are value machines. You get a good car for an affordable price that is reliable"

R F., TX (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Very reliable car for the money."

Ray N., CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Very poor gas mileage"

Stephen H., NM (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Looked for a simple, straight forward, reliable economical car without bells and whistles. This was it."

Anonymous, PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Excellent value overall"

Anonymous, ON (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"very good vehicle, like the AWD, reliable"

Dan G., KY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"This has been an outstanding car for the price. Zero problems with it, not even any maintenance other than oil changes and tires."

Scott P., NH (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The car is a great utility vehicle for the price. It is versatile and reliable."

Michael C., OH (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Leather heated seats, moon roof, great mileage and performance purchased for the mid 20000 range!"

Anonymous, IL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"This is my second Subaru, and it has more features and functionality than anything that was on the market at a price that was far lower. It's unbelievable in the heavy rain and snow. The acceleration is surprisingly thrilling with a CVT that is as smooth as silk while backing down expectantly when you take your foot off of the gas."

Michael H., MA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Very good performance and price for a reliable all wheel drive vehicle."

Anonymous, NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"5 door hatchback perfect size for every day commuting. Plenty of space behind seats for groceries or suitcases. Great winter car. It's the car we use for long trips."

Anonymous, NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Almost bought another make for 15k more that was not as good a car. If you want 4wd, nobody does it better at a more reasonable price than Subaru."

Thomas L., CT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I think we got a great car for not much $ relative to something fancier BUT we got the lowest price version and everyday I wish we had spent the absurd amount more ($2000?) so we'd have cruise control and power seats. Nonetheless buying this car was a good choice and we love driving it."

NANCY P., MA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"A great car for snowy climates, handles well, reliable. All for a very reasonable price."

Anonymous, MA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Poor turning radias Good gas mileage"

KENNETH F., ON (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"WE liked the price of the car, it's smaller size from the Forrester, the gas mileage is better than we expected, and we like the AWD."

JAMES W., PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Bought the car for my son and wanted something with good traction in winter, safety, and ability to hold value"

JAMES P., CT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Gas milage poor, despite dealer efforts"

Anonymous, MA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Great value for reliable wagon."

GREGORY C., KS (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Basically I used Consumer Reports vehicle ratings. For the senior population a 2012 Subaru was recommended. I purchased the 2013 because it was found "clean" (no accidents or recalls) by Carfax and was found to be a good value."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Good value, though the gas mileage is not as good as was advertised."

Anonymous, CT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I paid a higher price than other cars in that segment for the awd. Understandable. But the cost of rgeular maintenance is astronomical. Over $2000 in just over 3 years."

Anonymous, MB (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Compared to a Mazda3 (and others) in the same price range, you get a little more for your money with heated seats, CVT and AWD."

Anonymous, MN (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Miles per gallon seem lower than advertised. Seat fabric difficult to vacuum, tore easily. Wanted to buy seat covers but Subaru said not to because of air bags, so I'm stuck with difficult to clean, easily torn seats. And ads include dogs.! My old Toyota Corolla gets better mpg than advertised and seats are easy to clean and not torn after 16 years."

Anonymous, WA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"The 2013 Impreza was listed at $24K, but there were so many add-ons, includijng a $2000 "travel cost" and :"documentation" fee, that the final cost was $29K + 13% taxes... $32K. I felt I was nickel dimed to death on the value."

KEN C., MB (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"This car has had one problem after another over the last three years: paint problems, trim problems, window switch problems, oil consumption problems, seat heater problems, and lastly tire wear problems."

MARK W., VA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Subaru Impreza is a bargain. We compared this car to a Volvo with the same features. The Volvo had less interior room and cost $17,000 more."

THOMAS L., CT (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"great value great gas milage"

RICHARD C., PA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"excellent handling and very good mileage on Highways"

Anonymous, NJ (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Good ride though pretty noisy. Reliability very good. Gas mileage okay. Value four money. Excellent."

D K., MA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"It is a small car, perhaps, too small for my expectations."

Anonymous, ON (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"This auto for having all wheel drive was priced very well. It has a very solid feel when you ride in it. They could improve on the noise level but otherwise I got a very good car for the money."

Anonymous, OH (2013 Subaru Impreza)

Styling

How it looks inside and out

What Owners Say

"There is a cover over the auxiliary digital display of mileage, elapsed time, etc. that is absolutely hideous. It was a definite last minute fix to avoid the sun washing out the display that was slapped in place."

Anonymous, CA (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I like the Sedan model but it could do with a little more "umph" to look more sporty."

CHRIS C., IL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Doesn't look sleek. Old body style with limited colors. Love AWD."

Anonymous, NH (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"It's a 'box-on-wheels'; no style whatso-ever. I wish they'd put the rear winshield wiper (a necessity for me) on a more sedan-looking car."

CAROL S., NY (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"I've always thought Subaru's were ugly and so has everyone else that I have asked. Within the last 5 years or so their looks have significantly improved. They now take on the same 'everyday' look that Toyota has. It has always seemed to me that styling cues in Japanese cars have always minimal at best. With that said, I did not buy the car for its looks. My first impression of the looks to the 2013 Subaru Impreza was a car the women, family's and gays would look great in. To me it's a general bo"

PETE T., FL (2013 Subaru Impreza)

"Sharp and sporty looking"
