    Display screen freezes up

"The display screen freezes and it beeps and the Sirius radio and radio channels keep clicking from one channel to another"

    Anonymous, NY (2018 Subaru Legacy 2.5i 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

""All touch functions quit working properly including the navigation system, radio, phone, etc. then the screen froze up completely and was unusable.""

    Anonymous, OR (2018 Subaru Legacy 2.5i 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

"The touch screen portion of the Subaru Legacy Head Units are delaminating. There was a recall for 2019-2022 Legacy models, but my car is 2018 and it just started happening this year. Subaru wants me to go to the dealership and pay a diagnostic fee before they're willing to discuss what (if any) reimbursement. To me, this is a safety issue. Florida recently strengthened their "no cell phones when driving" law, so I need this to work. If Subaru of America won't pay for the replacement, it could cost up to $3000. If you search the r/subaru subreddit you'll see I'm not the only person with this issue."

""The first five years this car, everything was perfect. In 2023, AAA replaced the battery. Three months later, the battery was dying Frequently. I took it to the dealer who told me there had been a recall, but But I had not been informed of it and the time to replace things with past. They replaced the battery again. Still, I continue to help problems if the car wasnt driven At least once a week. As I am retired, and dont drive a whole lot, that is difficult. In 2024, the dealer did a major upgrade of the battery capacity I reported continued problems. They adjusted the size of the space for the battery and replaced it with a bigger battery. However, the car Battery still dies unless it is driven frequently. The first six years, I often went out of town for a month and experienced no issues with the battery. Now, if I am gone a week or more, The battery is dead when I get home. I love everything about this car, but the battery issue that seemingly cant be resolved is a real concern.""

    What Owners Say

    Transmission rebuild or replacement

"the transmission had been making a slight noise for at least a year. WHen the sound became louder, i brought to the dealer to evaluate and they gave me a $7,500 estimate and said that there was no warranty. I contacted Subaru directly and they said that the transmission had known problems and they had a supplement warranty up to 100,000 miles and that I needed to go back to the dealer. Armed with the information, the dealer confirmed that they could fix it under warranty at no charge. THey had the car for about a week and refused to provide a loaner car.
