Anonymous, UT (2003 Toyota Avalon XLS 3.0-L V6)"The premature brake wear was on the second set of brake pads installed on the vehicle, and I believe the premature wear problem was due to the fact the installation shop (non-Toyota) did NOT clean the rotor mating surfaces before installing the rotors thus creating a rotor misalignment wearing both the rotors AND the brake pads prematurely !!"
Tim T., OR (2003 Toyota Avalon XLS 3.0-L V6)"I'vew owned the car for 11 years and from 38,000 to 180,000 miles and I have had difficulty with wheels vibrating or wobbling nearly all of the time. Today it seems to be coming from the right rear tire but mostly it has been related to not being properly balanced, (I think). It has always been a problem especially at highway speed, 60-70 mph. Makes me crazy."

Dave D., MD (2003 Toyota Avalon XLS 3.0-L V6)"On the second set of brake pads and rotors installed on this vehicle two of the rotors wore far more quickly than they should have. The shop (non- Toyota) turned the rotors to "true them up" but I feel the shop should have cleaned the mounting mating surfaces before installing the rotors. Otherwise, the 2003 Toyota Avalon is THEE most reliable vehicle I have ever owned in 55 years !!"
