Toyota Camry 2005 sedan
Trim Shown: Sedan
One of our top-rated family cars, the Camry is quiet, refined, roomy, and comfortable. For 2005 it received a minor update and a new five-speed automatic transmission. Handling is predictable and secure. The XLE is fitted with grippier tires that improve handling and braking. The V6 is smooth and responsive. The lack of a telescoping steering wheel compromises the driving position for some drivers. The front seats are comfortable but could benefit from better thigh support. ABS is standard for 2005. We recommend the optional curtain air bags. Without them the Camry received a Poor rating in the IIHS side-crash test.
