Includes acceleration and handling
What Owners Say
"It is a six-cylinder so the acceleration is smooth, quiet and effortless. You pay the price in gas usage but we use the car infrequently so that is not too important. The car handles well for what it is."
Robert K., CT (2005 Toyota Camry)"Good acceleration and handling."
Anonymous, MD (2005 Toyota Camry)"It is very peppy for a car that is 12 years old! Enjoy the ability to get into traffic easily. It is a heavy car and drives just great when I am on windy roads in Palm Springs."

Anonymous, CO (2005 Toyota Camry)"After 12 years, it still drives great: smooth and responsive, and when you need a quick acceleration, it does it!"

Tom L., FL (2005 Toyota Camry)"when you push on the accelerator it takes about a second befor anything happens"

Dave C., FL (2005 Toyota Camry)"The 2.4 liter engine is so quiet I could sneak up on you and you would not know it. It has excellent acceleration, very good braking, and adequate handling."

Anonymous, CA (2005 Toyota Camry)"I bought the car new and have used it for relatively short trips around town. It has been reliable And inexpensive to care for."
Anonymous, MO (2005 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration seems mechanical instead of natural. Accelerating from a stop is often snappier than I intend. Steering has developed a slight knock or thump, although it has not developed any perceived looseness. Overall, the steering feels natural."
Anonymous, NV (2005 Toyota Camry)"It accelerates and handles very well."
David J., NY (2005 Toyota Camry)"It is a good engine but far from a fireball. It is adequate for most situations."
Anonymous, IL (2005 Toyota Camry)"We have owned several Toyota Camry's, an this is by far the best. Our other Camry''s were not responsive as our 2005. Presnetly we feel the 2018 is too low to the road and my not best suited for winter road driving."

Anonymous, WA (2005 Toyota Camry)"There is a significant hesitation with quick acceleration. Could be a problem in an emergency."
Anonymous, CO (2005 Toyota Camry)"It is a v-6, with which I use Shell high-test gas. It remains very lively and relatively economical (approx. 24 mpg), and I'm told the spark plugs have remained astonishingly clean. Anf for some reason, the turning circle radius is smaller than the Corolla's of the same vintage!"
Anonymous, ON (2005 Toyota Camry)"It's a four cylinder and has plenty of get up and go."
Gail T., TN (2005 Toyota Camry)"My 2005 Camry has a four-cylinder engine and yet the acceleration is excellent. I use it often on high speed Interstate roads with no problem at all. The handling is excellent lane changes and any driving action I need to perform. I love my Camry"

Anonymous, IL (2005 Toyota Camry)"The acceleration is outstanding. This car handles snow and ice like a dream. I can handle the Rocky Mountains in winter with no problem, passing all the stranded trucks and cars with ease. Never had an issue with steering. Some trouble with one of the brake calipers this year and had to replace it. This car continues to impress us with trouble free years of family transportation."
Elizabeth W., CO (2005 Toyota Camry)"very easy to handle and may take a little while to increase in speed but for the miles on this car extremely nice to use"

Anonymous, TX (2005 Toyota Camry)"We've had this car for 13 years and it still drives beautifully. Smooth and easy."
Anonymous, CA (2005 Toyota Camry)"The car is fun to drive and capable when pushed but I experienced some brake fade with a full car (people and luggage), hot temperatures and Texas 75-85 legal freeway speeds mixed with holiday traffic. Substituting higher performance parts (pads and rotors) fixed the issue plus gave the car impressive stopping power."

Hard to believe the car is 14 yrs old, handles like a new vehicle.2nd best Camry ( out of 4) that I have owned. (The 94 LE was the bst, largely because it hada 6 cylinder engine, which was especially useful in the hills and mountains of Tennesse where we then lived.)"
Anonymous, OH (2005 Toyota Camry)"Reliable acceleration to maneuver in tight situation"
Ingrid P., VA (2005 Toyota Camry)"As I said this vehicle a has a lot of miles on it. However, it is still very "peppy" accelerates rapidly and handles well."

IRENE O., NY (2005 Toyota Camry)"It is terrible on snow and on ice. In acceleration, stopping and traction."
WESLEY H., MI (2005 Toyota Camry)"Has that annoying "drive-by-wire" throttle. Step on the gas and in certain circumstances there's a delay. Otherwise okay."
Anonymous, NJ (2005 Toyota Camry)"the 4 cylinder engine does not provide adequate power when merging onto a highway."
JOHN S., NJ (2005 Toyota Camry)"The vehicle is sometimes sluggish on acceleration and then suddenly jerks forward. Have had it to the dealer twice; once they replaced parts in the transmission; the second time they said there wasn't any problem."
LOUIS R., NJ (2005 Toyota Camry)"The Camry is a goog car also how ever it does not have really good ride and is lacking a bit in the Handling department."

PRIESTS C., AZ (2005 Toyota Camry)"The 2.3 liter engine is more than adequate in respect to torque and revs for most drivers, and the handling is extra surprisingly good for a popular, affordable, sedan. I have augmented the basics with a washable K&N air filter, and larger diameter and wider alloy wheels and stickier Toyo tires, and it completely satisfies me as both a former Corvette and current 300ZX 2+2 driver."
