The Camry proved capable, quiet and well rounded in all test versions, but not exciting to drive. Handling is sound, though not sporty. Ride quality is comfortable and the interior is roomy. While all powertrains are refined and economical, the V6 XLE is very quick and the Hybrid combines good performance with great fuel economy.

THOMAS P., PA (2008 Toyota Camry)

"I find this car to be very noisy on highways, and that there are anumber of minor annoying design inconveniences. It seems very thoghtlessly designed, as far are passenger comfort is concerned - surprising, from an organization with the stature of Toyota"

Anonymous, ON (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Seats are not good. Poor thigh and back support. Not that quite."

BERNARD L., VA (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Climate control has an automatic adj. system which causes AC to come on when the inside temp is warmer than outside even if it's freezing outside. The heat takes a long time to kick in in the winter. Passengers always complain. I've had the dealer look at it but they say "that's the "design" of the auto climate control." It's flawed."

LYNNE A., OH (2008 Toyota Camry)

"The car is a trooper! It's beat the socks off our 2014 Subaru in terms of comfort of the seats, ride, and lack of road noise."

DIANE V., NJ (2008 Toyota Camry)

"very uncomfortable seats on all toyotas seat belts do not retract on any toyotas"

Anonymous, AZ (2008 Toyota Camry)

"I crave quiet, but it must be balanced with ease of parking and maneuverability. For a mid-size car, it feels as roomy and quiet as most larger cars, yet is easy to navigate through lots and garages, while also handling quite well for a family car."

Anonymous, TX (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Fairly quiet, even with the AC on"

Richard R., CA (2008 Toyota Camry)

"This car is very quiet, which is both good and bad. Good is obvious; the bad is that people have a hard time hearing it coming, especially in the parking lot"

Anonymous, CO (2008 Toyota Camry)

"After ten years and 245k miles, it's finally beginning to get a little noisy (squeaks, rattles). It's been a fantastic driving car."

Sara M., MO (2008 Toyota Camry)

"The seats are very comfortable. It is easy to drive for 5 to 8 hours."

Anonymous, CA (2008 Toyota Camry)

Jonathan B., OR (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Cannot find a car as smooth on pot holes as this Camry except the 2019 Avalon… Absorbs all large and small bumps."

Anonymous, QC (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Car is extremely smooth and quiet since it is a hybrid. Also seats are comfortable but not as high as I would like for the passenger. Causes me leg problems in passenger seat on long trips (7-10 hr)"

Lowell H., NE (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Side support lacking. A little on the noisy side."

Earle C., CA (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Comfort is very nice. I wish it had a backup camera. Visibility could use some improvements too."

William G., TX (2008 Toyota Camry)

"It's a nice, comfortable car. The back seat room is enough for adult passengers, even when the front seats are all the way back. Headroom is great; I can't remember another car where my head wasn't just about scraping the ceiling. I love this car."

Margaret B., IL (2008 Toyota Camry)

"This car is even more comfortable for me (5ft) because of how short I am. It is closer to the ground and not as large, but I drove 2500 miles in the Highlander without any problems and both are equally as comfortable and noiseless."

Kay N., CA (2008 Toyota Camry)

"At 84000 miles we are surprised at how smooth this car still is It makes us wonder how long will this car last."

D F., WA (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Good"

Anonymous, OH (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Generally I find the seats to be very comfortable. As is the case with most drivers who are over 6'-0" tall, I find that the driver's seat does not go back quite far enough, and would like to have another 2" to 3" of leg room in the rearmost position of the driver's seat. The ride is completely satisfactory, but there is a bit more road noise in the cabin than I would like."

Henry B., OR (2008 Toyota Camry)

"The seats aren't comfortable for drives of 2 hours or more for this tall 6'3" driver. Not enough thigh support."

Anonymous, CA (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Best ride (cushioned) of any vehicle I've driven. Ride and steering are the most important choices to me. Seats are comfortable and easily adjustable (electric). Noise is negligible."

Anonymous, OH (2008 Toyota Camry)

Anonymous, OH (2008 Toyota Camry)

Steve B., WV (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Rattles in seat area, possibly from seat belt retractors. Noise in sunroof when going up steep driveway when body flexes."

Anonymous, WA (2008 Toyota Camry)

"It's a very comfortable car, and continues to be so after 10 years."

Anne T., AZ (2008 Toyota Camry)

"The car is quiet & smooth riding. These were primary factors in buying this car"

Mike O., WA (2008 Toyota Camry)

"The seats are easyly aranged for ones best comfort and changed back if others have made changes."

Anonymous, UT (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Very comfortable ride and noise level is still bearable considering age of vehicle. Seats still provide support and firmness."

Anonymous, CA (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Driving seat becomes uncomfortable on long trips; need to stop every hour or so to stretch. The general noice level is high, which leads to fatigue. I find the design distinctly "American", whereas I am more appreciative of a more "European" desing approach. There are several small but annoying features of this car, showing thoughtless design - probably better on the more expensive trim levels."

Rod C., ON (2008 Toyota Camry)

"This car rides very comfortably. It’s quiet inside, handles well."

Dan R., IL (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Seats seem a little hard. After about2 hours I need to walk"

"Accelerates very nice to highway speeds and to pass. Seats are comfortable. More engine and road noise than l like"

Bradley C., WI (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Despite being 10 years old, seats are comfortable. Armrest on drivers door is worn out and not much padding. Gas mileage on highway is excellent at 38mpg."

"After 230000+ miles I have only had to replace batteries, tires and other items that wear out.and are routine maintenance. it has also gotten excellent gas mileage."

SAM O., WV (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Great price and reliable"

GERALD L., NJ (2008 Toyota Camry)

"The 2008 V6 Camry has held up very well and is a wonderful daily driver. The styling is still very relevant and looks better than more recent models. I've had minor problems with the glove box that locks but does not open. I also need to replace sun visors that no longer stay retracted, that is, they are just hanging and do not flip up. Apparently there was an enhanced warranty on this defect but I did not take advantage of it before it expired. Overall, it has been a great vehicle and I would d"

ORSON B., AZ (2008 Toyota Camry)

"This Camry is extremely dependable. It has a second set of tires and regular windshield wipers replaced. Nothing else has been needed in 75,000 miles."

DANNY S., AZ (2008 Toyota Camry)

"Good reliable transportation at a reasonable price."

LINDA L., MD (2008 Toyota Camry)

"I purchased this car as a used vehicle with 20K miles. I've put 45K miles on it and have not had a single problem. The only costs I've incurred are the normal maintenance and a set of tires. This is a great car, absolutely no complaints."

DAN R., IL (2008 Toyota Camry)

"I bought the car in a down time (January - thanks to a tip in CR), and bought a report from CR for the pricing. I was able to effectively negotiate the price down because of those factors. I even bought the car below the average selling price indicated on the report. I felt sorry for the salesman, I added a few add-on items (insurance and floor mat, which I am glad I did! Insurance paid off!). Nothing like an informed buyer! Thank you, CR!"

"Was a very good value for us"

Bradley C., WI (2008 Toyota Camry)

"At age 87 I have owned over 25 cars in my life. I am most satisfied with this Toyota. It is almost maintenance free. Partly because I use it less as a retiree, and partly because it is so well built. I may replace it, but only because I want a rear door (SUV) for groceries."

Frank C., IL (2008 Toyota Camry)

"I have no complaints about the overall quality - it is very well engineered (if not that well designed). It has been very reliable, except for the initial brakes, which has to be replaced at 30Mm, and the left-side child-safety door lock, which has been jammed since the first time it was used. It's the Energizer Bunny of cars!"

Rod C., ON (2008 Toyota Camry)

"This car is over 10 years old, and still looks like it just came out of the showroom. I've driven other cars this long, and there was more Bondo than steel on the body; this one (knock on wood) is still rust-free. The annual maintenance is almost zero - a couple oil changes a year, and a few less-frequent things make my average annual maintenance cost about $100. Can't beat that. Then there's the gas mileage - I buy gas once a month whether I need to or not. My insurance guy emailed a while ago, saying, your car is ten years old, you're looking for a new one, we've got great rates on car loans. I said, it's a Toyota. Insurance guy says, oh, yeah, it's still a baby. It's a great car."

Margaret B., IL (2008 Toyota Camry)

"The car has had very few problems and gets great gas mileage. The original front breaks lasted for 174,000 miles and the original rear breaks are fine. At 176,000 miles, it still has its original hybrid battery."

Anonymous, CA (2008 Toyota Camry)

Sun visor broke before 5 years, but was replaced by recall, but was same with friend's Honda. dashboard is starting to melt.Had to replace windshield wiper motor before warranty expired, but it has always been too slow. Must remove dashboard & many other parts to get to air conditioner to repair. Must have in south Louisiana in summer!"
