Toyota Camry 2012 sedan
Trim Shown: Base
The Camry is a refined, comfortable, and roomy family sedan. Handling is a bit more responsive, and the interior is nice, with upgraded materials. The three impressive powertrain choices are the base 2.5-liter, four-cylinder; a 3.5-liter V6; and the Hybrid, which gets an amazing 38 mpg overall. The four-cylinder engine returned 27 mpg overall, topping the class. The V6 version is very quick and delivers 26 mpg overall. Drawbacks include convoluted touch-screen radio controls that could be better designed. Bluetooth and a USB port are standard, and Toyota's Entune smartphone integration is available.

Best Version to Get

It's hard to go wrong with any Camry model. We're partial to the XLE trim with the four-cylinder engine; it combines efficiency with luxury. The Hybrid brings little sacrifice for its big fuel economy gains. Consider the SE and XSE as sporty trim packages since they don't really make the car tha...
