What Owners Say
"The 8-speed xxxxxx is "temperamental" at times, so the driver needs to accommodate with a sensitivity in using the accelerator pedal. The alternate "manual" operation is not what I expected it to be. Once in a selected gear, it will upshift automatically as needed, instead of allowing the driver to use it as a manual system."
Anonymous, MD (2018 Toyota Camry)"Good acceleration with the electric motor"
Anonymous, WA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very good power for a 4 cylinder. Camry has a very good ride and feels stable."
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Has a sporty feel."
R D., OR (2018 Toyota Camry)"Great gasoline mileage and range between fill ups."
Gerald L., NC (2018 Toyota Camry)"I have a 2018 4 cylinder Camry. It starts out slowly like a 4 cylinder and sounds like one until I get up to about 15 mph. I had a 2000 6 cylinder Camry until this year. The gas usage is about the same even though the 2018 is much lighter than the 2000. I do like how easily you can change directions while parking and driving."
Mayko D., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"It is very smooth and it has a very comfortable ride. It feels luxurious and on top of that low miles per gallon."
Anonymous, MN (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration seems to be about the same as our 4 cylinder 2010 Camry (but is a little quicker according to road tests) but the engine seems more noisy. Handling feels better and is more sporty than the 2010."
Richard P., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Accelerator pedal is very stiff and need to press very hard. Needs even harder pressure when driving on even the smallest inclines. Snow stays on back window and cannot see."
Anonymous, WI (2018 Toyota Camry)"I purchased vehicle to get emergency braking in this vehicle. It works. If all vehicles had this rear end collisions would not occur. I also like the dynamic radar controlled speed control. I love both of these features. The new 8 speed transmission provided 34 mpg in 8,000 miles. Great acceleration when needed."
Tony T., TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"Smooth acceleration and great response on handling"
Anonymous, VA (2018 Toyota Camry)"I like the safety features, like lane departure signal, bright light automaticity and auto deceleration when a car is in your way."
Jeannie M., AR (2018 Toyota Camry)"The Entune 3 system navigation Scout is terrible. It is phone-based and not dependable.. It freezes. Worst when it happens on strange and fast highways."
Jonathan W., NJ (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration sluggish"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration and handling are excellent. But, (as CR reported prior to our purchase,) The motor whine is really annoying... embarrassing at those times when you must quickly pass another car."
William W., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"The car handles poorly at high speeds. It feels as if it is losing control when the road curves"
Paul H., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Much better than previous Camry, big improvement"
Anonymous, MA (2018 Toyota Camry)"It's 2 inches lower than my 2008 Camry so getting in and out is cumbersome as you can hit your head if you don't duck. The transmission is not smooth, shoe heel gets stuck between floor mat and accelerator pedal so I have to move my foot slightly back when pressing the accelerator pedal."
Anonymous, CT (2018 Toyota Camry)"I am amazed that a vehicle this size can ride this smoothly"
Beverly P., TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"The car turns very well and it feels like it has plenty of grip on the road. I'm never worried about slipping when I accelerate in a turn such as when pulling out of a driveway onto a busy street. Acceleration is good enough for all but the shortest freeway on-ramps and I have no trouble keeping up with traffic. My biggest gripe is that the transmission can be jolting from time to time. When accelerating moderately from a stop, the car can lurch a bit between 1st and 2nd gears. It doesn't always happen and I'd say it happens more often right after starting the car. Also, when in stop and go traffic, if I slow down to ~5 mph and speed up right away again, the car sometimes jolts as if it had to jump several gears at once. Most of the time, especially in the higher gears, everything is smooth. I also like the fuel economy. I do a combination of city and highway driving so my combined isn't impressive but I've noticed my highway economy can sometimes top 40 mpg."
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Smooth, quiet and easy handling"
Barton P., NC (2018 Toyota Camry)"Handle road great with 17 inch tires , miss my 16 tires ,"
Anonymous, MD (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration and handling are both very good. However, the eight speed automatic transmission is rough when it downshifts and then has to up shift."
Anonymous, TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"The car is very easy and fun to drive. Good acceleration to get on a highway. Steering is very responsive."
Anonymous, MO (2018 Toyota Camry)"It's the basic 4 cylinder engine with an 8 speed automatic transmission. On highway trips we average 40 miles per gallon with a range of around 500 miles. It has a very comfortable ride and makes less noise than my 2013 Accord. The drivers seat has an adjustable pneumatic lumbar support which makes long trips very comfortable. The acceleration and handling are also superior to my Accord."
Robert W., TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"The handling is very secure. Acceleration is great along with excellent gas mileage"
Harvey L., AZ (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration from a stop thru the first few shifts is too noisy. Acceleration is fine but it is a noisy distraction."
Robert M., DE (2018 Toyota Camry)"Excellent"
Anonymous, AL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very poor acceleration. When I hit the gas, it will first not respond at all (as if it's thinking about it), and then accelerate. But the acceleration is labored."
Larry D., IN (2018 Toyota Camry)"Vehicle hesitates when trying to accelerate quickly. This is a major issue when trying to enter the freeway"
Anonymous, AZ (2018 Toyota Camry)"car is very compliant"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"I would say the steering is very positive, The Brakes are more powerful."
Anonymous, ON (2018 Toyota Camry)"Car handles well. Eng in & Transmission provide good acceleration and work well together. Gas millage is good on highway."
John C., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"While the acceleration would not be described as "exciting", I am pleased by how often I am impressed by how smoothly it cruises and handles. It gets me where I need to go comfortably and, I feel, safely."
David P., MO (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very quiet and easy to handle"
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very impressive. Plenty of pickup when you need it and it is very quiet."
Richard R., TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"It handles extremely well in good weather. Not good in snow. I probably should have all weather tires in the winter. Acceleration in amazing for a 4 cylinder. I like knowing the mpg on each trip. I like the safety features, except that twice the car has braked when there was no reason: once on cruise control when there was a bicyclist on a curve and once in my neighborhood for no discernible reason, not on cruise control"
Anonymous, MI (2018 Toyota Camry)"Handles well with plenty of power when necessary."
Anonymous, BC (2018 Toyota Camry)"Great acceleration and handling, but the engine is a little noisy on acceleration. 2018 has great mpg. Got 40-42 on a trip."
Gregory C., PA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Tendency to slow or hesitant reaction to the accelerator when going from very slow speed."
D B., OH (2018 Toyota Camry)"Toyota has really improved the handling of the Camry since the last Camry we owned (a 1997 Camry. It handles almost as well as our 2008 Mercury Milan. Also, I am very impressed with the 4 cylinder engine's responsiveness, acceleration and excellent mileage."
James S., NJ (2018 Toyota Camry)"6 cylinder gives nice pickup for a sedan. The 3 handling settings (green, normal, sport) make a real difference and are true to their names."
Daniel M., AZ (2018 Toyota Camry)"Navigation system"
Anonymous, TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"There is a hesitation when I accelerate. It is not smooth and roars a bit. Very disappointed in gas mileage. About to have this problem checked out."
Marge S., GA (2018 Toyota Camry)"poor acceleration"
Anonymous, WA (2018 Toyota Camry)"all apound landling and performance"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"For a four cylinder, it has plenty of pep and I love the way it handles . Only thing I don't like is getting into and out of the car. Its a sports model and center of gravity is to low for my liking."
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"ride ruff"
Anonymous, NC (2018 Toyota Camry)"I truly wish there had been a manual transmission available when I bought the car. It often takes the transmission a second or two to realize that I want to accelerate, especially since the engine is perfectly capable."
James H., AZ (2018 Toyota Camry)"The acceleration is excellent in this car. It is a joy to drive on the freeway or scenic secondary highways. Don't need a Mustang to have thrills."
Bob C., ON (2018 Toyota Camry)"Excellent acceleration for a family car. The handling is very solid and secure."
Anonymous, IA (2018 Toyota Camry)"The 4 cylinder motor is very responsive and more than adequate for today's traffic. Plenty of power and the handling is excellent."
J G., AZ (2018 Toyota Camry)"The car drives beautifully, and at the same time, fuel economy is outstanding!"
Felix L., ON (2018 Toyota Camry)"The handling is great but the acceleration is very unpredictable. If I slow down to make a turn, the acceleration is non existent. The car appears to be lost as far as what gear it should be in and if I accelerate more, the car will literally feel as though I am trying to merge on the freeway. There is no middle ground."
Jason A., WI (2018 Toyota Camry)"Good handling that is very predictable. Acceleration is good. No problems merging into traffic."
John J., PA (2018 Toyota Camry)"I ENJOY THE HANDLING ON THIS VEHICLE. TURNS, RESPONSIVENESS AND GENERAL HANDLING ARE SMOOTH, COMFORTABLE AND EASILY CONTROLED."
Anonymous, MB (2018 Toyota Camry)"I am amazed how powerful the four-cylinder engine is and what great gas mileage the car gets"
Eric T., OR (2018 Toyota Camry)"Smooth ride,handling, quiet, efficiency"
Lew F., ON (2018 Toyota Camry)"Excellent and smooth acceleration. Handling decent. Steering could use a little more on center quality when highway driving."
R H., OH (2018 Toyota Camry)"Instant good acceleration, taugh handling"
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"The hybrid gives much better acceleration than the 4 cylinder engine while getting better gas mileage. I've also been happy with the handling of the car."
Anonymous, IL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Has good acceleration and handling. Merges well on highway."
Patricia M., TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"Much better than Prius Its faster, Larger way more comfortable and gets 50 mph"
Anonymous, WI (2018 Toyota Camry)"Car appearance is good looking and not boring like past models. It handles turns and bumps great. Not much sway. You actually feel the road and fee confident driving the car. It is quiet and comfortable. All around, it is a great car for the money."
Gary R., UT (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very responsive engine and braking systems; tight, steady handling; good turning radius"
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Good acceleration and superb handling."
Armando L., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"It's handling is very good and the hybrid has very nice acceleration."
Jon H., CO (2018 Toyota Camry)"transmission is uneven, clunky, hesitates and then engages. handles ok, acceleration ok"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"I have the V-6 Camry XLE and the acceleration is excellent, the brakes are very good, excellent safety equipment, and handling is excellent."
Nancy M., TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"very good behavior. The continuous transmission is very smooth."
Anonymous, MD (2018 Toyota Camry)"Power and response of the v6 engine is outstanding. No problems merging onto interstate, passing or maneuvering through different traffic situations."
Anonymous, NC (2018 Toyota Camry)"For a 4 cylinder, it handles quite well with good acceleration as well. It has alarms when getting too close to the side of the road or other vehicles."
Valerie B., KY (2018 Toyota Camry)"Its runs great. Handles crisply, has great acceleration and still gets incredible gas mileage"
Anonymous, TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"The handling is very good, I feel I am in complete control when driving"
Anonymous, WI (2018 Toyota Camry)"Car handles extremely well in winter or summer. Steering is responsive. Corners well. I enjoy driving it. Comfortable ride, even on rolling ( hill town ) country roads. Only minus is that car is a little too low to the ground. This could be issue in winter driving but handled extremely well last winter with no issues. Acceleration is a bit sluggish, however engine is a 4 cyl.. Engine is a bit noisy when accelerating but is not a distraction. More than sufficient power, however."
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"The new8 speed transmission needs to be re-programmed to make shifting at slow speeds more compliant & smooth. slow to shift down to first gear when coming to a stop. This causes transmission to slam into gear when starting out from a stop."
Ronald C., NB (2018 Toyota Camry)"It beautiful inside and out."
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"The eight speed shifts so often, so it isn't a smooth driving experience."
Anonymous, MI (2018 Toyota Camry)"comfort, mileage, acceleration, handling."
Anonymous, WA (2018 Toyota Camry)"It drives so smoothly and the acceleration is quick! It takes turns very nicely."
Michele R., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Drive"
James H., DE (2018 Toyota Camry)"Good acceleration and gas milage per gallon"
Roger B., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"transmission slow to respond, shifts sometimes rough, transmission feels like it is stuck in certain gear slowing down acceleration. Engine noisy. Previously leased a 2015 Camry 4 cylinder. Engine quieter and acceleration and shifting much smoother but gas mileage poorer."
Anonymous, FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Feels awesome driving local and on highway. Also, gives options for performance response, which helps with mileage."
Peter K., IL (2018 Toyota Camry)"I absolutely LOVE the zippy acceleration and handling of the Camry hybrid. Very low-speed braking is clunky when transitioning from regenerative to mechanical but I don't find this to be objectionable."
Robert G., OR (2018 Toyota Camry)"For a four cylinder car, it has great acceleration and great driving"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very nice ride"
Anonymous, PA (2018 Toyota Camry)"For a hybrid car, the acceleration is excellent. Much better than the gas powered vehicle it replaced. Great job Toyota"
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Like my previous 2 Camry Hybrids, the 2018 model has amazing get-up-and-go, great handling, and even better mileage (although not as good as touted). The newer features of lane safety and radar-guided cruise are a mixed bag. The lane alarm is annoying at times, such as merging on the freeway, as it may “ correct‿ my lane change. But I do like the cruise feature in heavy freeway traffic, which can slow or brake faster than I can react."
Stan D., OR (2018 Toyota Camry)"It drives very good. Good exeleration"
Melvyn B., PA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Quick acceleration at any speed."
Anonymous, OH (2018 Toyota Camry)"hate entune system wish I had apple play"
Anonymous, ON (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration is atrocious. One minute it is fine, the next minute you can push the accelerator pedal halfway to the floor and absolutely nothing happens. In desperation I push the pedal to the floor and and the transmission slams into low gear and deafens us with exhaust noise as it throws our heads back against the seat. Whoever wrote the software for this car should be fired as well as the management team who approved it. This includes the lane capture and adaptive cruise control."
David T., NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"like driving a glove"
Anonymous, WI (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration seems sluggish. I had a 2016 Camry which had much better acceleration."
Anonymous, FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"When I step hard on the accelerator, the car does not respond instantly. There is a momentary delay, which is frustrating because I want to get into another lane quickly and can't do it. It can pose a danger. My old car, a 1998 Camry, responded instantly when I stepped on the gas. It didn't have as much horsepower but at least it got me into another lane much faster. What's the point of having 203 horsepower if it doesn't respond just when I need it?"
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"I love the acceleration -- it's amazing for a hybrid. Compares favorably with many non-hybrids. Ride is very smooth and steering is precise. Brakes could be a little more powerful but they do the job. Extremely pleased with how this car drives."
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"I have been impressed with the acceleration ,response, and smoothness of the engine, battery, and transmission combination."
Leroy D., IN (2018 Toyota Camry)"Slow acceleration with 5 passengers. Suspension bottoms out and is floaty with 5 passengers. Excellent steering feel and flat cornering. Raspy, unpleasant engine noise under hard acceleration. Toyota connect system needed to be replaced. took over 1 month and 3 visits to repair"
Gordon H., MA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Poor acceleration. Must press gas quite substantially to get it to move and to stay at a given speed. Do not like the CVT. My old 2005 Camry was much better in this regard."
Sharon R., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Best four cylinder car acceleration I have been in for a long time It handles like a smaller car so much improved over a 2012 Camry"
Rodney B., NB (2018 Toyota Camry)"handling; quiet ride"
Anonymous, MN (2018 Toyota Camry)"The car accelerates impressively when call upon. Handling is good. It's no sports car, but it is a fair bit better than the couple Camry cars we had in the past."
David L., WI (2018 Toyota Camry)"This car has enough acceleration with Great Gas mileage. It drives very good going through tight and twisty roads, it inspires confidence."
David G., LA (2018 Toyota Camry)"My Camry accelerates well. My Camry is easy to handle. I feel safe on the highway. I can keep up with the semis and SUVs."
Anonymous, IN (2018 Toyota Camry)"Handling is very tight, much better than the Lexus ES we were considering. Acceleration could be more robust, Engine should probably be a turbo."
Anonymous, FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"ride is sound"
Anonymous, MA (2018 Toyota Camry)"CC deceleration when approaching another vehicle"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"Handles very well, but ride is firm, bumps can be harsh. Acceleration is excellent for 4 cyl without turbo."
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration of the V6 engine is very good, however power does not come on in abundance until engine RPM reaches about 3500. The 8-speed automatic transmission needs a bit more refining as it seems to have trouble reacting quickly and smoothly to throttle induced downshifts while driving in "normal" or "eco" mode. This quirk is much less noticeable however in "sport" mode. Handling of this car, which is the XSE model, is excellent."
Peter V., DE (2018 Toyota Camry)"For a 4 cylinder it has great acceleration and handling in a mid sized car."
Larry G., TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"really nice"
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"The car handles well. I am on a big interstate regularly and the car accelerates when I need the speed and responds quickly. I like the way the Camry handles. I have owned several Camrys over the years and this handles the best of all that I have owned."
Anonymous, MD (2018 Toyota Camry)"Lag between gas pedal being pushed and acceleration (turbo lag in a non-turbo car). Always hunting for a better gear when not in sport mode constantly jerking with gear changes. Handling is strong, but has understeer which is expected in FWD car."
Michael L., TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"Excellent acceleration, good handling and very comfortable. Good balance."
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Hard to accelerate from a stop, sometimes the 8 speed trans shifts in unexpected ways. Handling is very good, although when backing visibility is hampered by rear pillars (especially when parallel parking)."
Dan S., SC (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very good driving experience. Handling is good and the car has more than enough acceleration capability"
Anonymous, CO (2018 Toyota Camry)"Great acceleration and good feel for the road."
Anonymous, NV (2018 Toyota Camry)"This vehicle has only been in our possession for 2 days. After such a short time of ownership, all I can honestly say is that it is a terrific vehicle and we expect it to perform as well as the 4 other Camrys we have had in the past. Based on limited driving due to its newness, the ride is smooth and quiet, and handling is terrific."
Mary P., MN (2018 Toyota Camry)"This is our first hybrid. I am pleasantly surprised by the peppy engine response even in economy mode. The car is whisper quiet on the highway and handles well. Remember, though, that we have had the car for only two days and have only driven it a few miles so far."
William P., VA (2018 Toyota Camry)"A surprisingly peppy car for a hybrid - accelerates very hard if you ask it to (merging into traffic). Ride is very comfortable. Handling is crisp and responsive."
Anonymous, FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"I love how it starts slowly and picks up gradually"
Anonymous, FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"The 2018 Camry was a lot of 'pep' and handles very well."
Ken H., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"The camry we have is a 4. We felt we did not need a 6 for the kind of driving we do. The acceleration is fine but if you need to accelerate more quickly (change lanes, enter highway) , you can hear and sense the changing the surge. The handling is really responsive. The Camry hangs on to the road changing lanes, going around curves, dealing with traffic."
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"I have owned new Camrys for decades. This one is very noisy when accelerating. The worst part is the transmission. It has difficult finding and keeping gears. Sometimes when you shift from Park to Reverse or Drive, it does so with multiple bangs and lurches. Just terrible. I would never buy this car again."
Rich L., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"In the Normal mode, the acceleration is just what I want. The handling is a bit dicey with the lane correct on."
Anonymous, IN (2018 Toyota Camry)"I have never felt so safe in a car. I bought this because I pick up two nieces and a nephew from school every day (5, 9, and 11). I feel they are safe in this car, and I use no gas while running the a/c and listening to books in the carpool line."
Anonymous, AL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very responsive, very good acceleration"
Andrew W., OH (2018 Toyota Camry)"It handles very well and when I'm passing it's a rocket."
Robert L., TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"Quick acceleration and handles very well both in town and on the highway. However, I am not a racecar driver :)"
Anonymous, IA (2018 Toyota Camry)"The car drives and performs better that other hybrids and considering te size of the vehicle, the mpg is satisfactory. The car handles with ease compared to others in its class. I would say the road noise get sometimes louder than anticipated but it is still tolerable."
Leandro B., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Quiet and fast. A poor man's BMW ! The 40 electric horses add a lot to performance."
Lawrence K., NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"Easy to handle, responds well, and I especially like all the new safety features and cameras."
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"At low speed, brakes can grab unexpectedly and intermittently - dealer service department denies knowing about the problem."
Anonymous, CT (2018 Toyota Camry)"This car is so much sportier than you'd imagine. It handles incredibly well, taking the curves with ease, and is surprisingly responsive. I expected a compromise -- but it just doesn't feel like it. It is absolutely fun to drive."
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Echo, normal and sports are easy to access and behave as expected. Echo provides great milage on the highway and expected mileage around time"
Timothy G., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"shifts in a very clunky, not smooth manner."
Bob E., OR (2018 Toyota Camry)"The V6 has great acceleration, handling and gas mileage. Love it!!"
David E., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Good acceleration, excellent fuel economy. Safety sense features ,pre collision alert and braking, auto headlight dimming, cross traffic alert. lane keeping. pedestrian alert."
Anonymous, ON (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very responsive to acceleration and quick maneuvers in traffic."
Sue A., IL (2018 Toyota Camry)"From a stopped position to starting, the car balks and stutters to gain speed. I have to switch to sport mode to get a smooth takeoff. Too much having to look down, especially on entering expressway."
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"Low speed down shifts and acceleration seems a little rough."
Anonymous, FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Trunk could be bigger!"
Anonymous, ON (2018 Toyota Camry)"Adapative cruise control makes maintaine a safe distance when following a vechicle with variable easier."
Anonymous, AZ (2018 Toyota Camry)"It accelerates great. It handles very well especially on turns. The adaptive cruse control work perfectly. And it is extremely quite."
Frank D., OH (2018 Toyota Camry)"Excellent acceleration....perfect handling"
Irwin F., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"The acceleration is good since it usually starts from the battery power then converts to engine. The braking is not smooth - it tends to be over-responsive, so when you're trying to smoothly brake/decelerate, it often reacts with a jerk as if you pushed the brakes too hard."
Kevin P., GA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very comfortable ride quality and excellent gas mileage both on trips and around town"
A S., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"This is the first 4 cylinder car I have owned in over 20 years, so I was prepared for noticeably slower pickup on the highway. VERY pleasantly surprised with how quick and responsive the car is. And handling overall is excellent."
Anonymous, NJ (2018 Toyota Camry)"the safety features which come with the car is top notch....it assists the driver with an extensive sensor and scanning array."
Peter G., VA (2018 Toyota Camry)"It offers 3 setting for driving. Eco, Neutral, Sport. The handling is very responsive"
Anonymous, WI (2018 Toyota Camry)"Transmission improved over 2014 Camty"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"8 speed transmission gives good mileage and good pickup"
Anonymous, FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"great car good value comfortable"
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"Put it in Sport mode, and this vehicle HAULS."
Julian G., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"For a smaller, 4 cyl engine that is NOT turbo charged, the Camry provides very good acceleration and passing. Handling on the XSE is crisp and precise. Brakes are very good and the ride is firm but comfortable."
Anonymous, TN (2018 Toyota Camry)"Appreciate the safety features, e.g. alarming when the car is too close to any object or person, as well as automatic braking."
Anonymous, NC (2018 Toyota Camry)"I had a 2015 BMW 528i before getting the Camry. The Camry rides better, is almost as quick for acceleration, has better handling, better gas mileage all for half the price of the BMW"
Richard A., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"This Camry has an 8 speed transmission which shifts fairly smoothly, but sometimes, depending upon acceleration speed, seems noisy. The acceleration itself is very good. The overall drive and handling are very good."
John H., PA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Awesome driving experience. The handling responsiveness makes the car fun to drive."
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"Handles well on the road. We like the supports to stay in lane and cruise control which monitors speed of car in front of us."
Anonymous, IL (2018 Toyota Camry)"My wife's 2015 hybrid is really lively. I knew that my LE lacked the electric support, and that it was designed for economy, but I didn't expect it to be as sluggish as it is. The car has a floating feeling when you change lanes; almost like the wheels were soft and the tires rolling off the rim. My guess is that this sensation comes from the lane keeping function, but I don't like it."
Carolyn R., VA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration is sluggish.....The automatic transmission system takes longer than needed to shift out of first gear."
Anonymous, FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Even though it is not in “eco‿ mode, acceleration from standstill seems sluggish and hesitant"
R K., MI (2018 Toyota Camry)"Smooth and quick acceleration, quick response to steering and braking commands. Great ride, comfortable on long trips."
Anonymous, GA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Fun to drive with surprising power when needed. Transmission is a little choppy when accelerating slowly."
S I., PA (2018 Toyota Camry)"when passing, the total power, (engine and electric) is outstanding. Otherwise it's a Toyota and that's always very good."
Anonymous, OH (2018 Toyota Camry)"Good: Driving experience, camera when reversing, side view mirrors indicators for safe lane changing, automatically brakes when too close to a collision. Bad: Dash board controlls are not intutive, very confusing & distracting while driving, No music devises."
Anonymous, TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"The acceleration is good for this size car with as small an engine it has. I especially like the safety driving features the car has."
H E., IL (2018 Toyota Camry)"For a 4-cylinder engine, it has very good pick-up and and it handles very nicely, with well-balanced steering and good brakes."
Jose M., NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"we bought it yesterday the car is so quiet, hugs the road and accelerates nicely."
Anonymous, NJ (2018 Toyota Camry)"Drives better than a gas car."
Gregory M., OH (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very good for me, for my use"
J B., QC (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very firm Road handling and great acceleration from any starting speed. excellent safety features with Lane departure assist and radar assist for slowing down adds a lot of safety to the driving of the car. A real pleasure to drive."
Anonymous, AZ (2018 Toyota Camry)"handles very well"
Anonymous, CT (2018 Toyota Camry)"The ECO setting provides very poor acceleration. Even the standard setting has poorer acceleration than our 2015 Camry - which supposedly had a lower HP rating. I feel that our 2006 Corolla would win a 0-30 MPH acceleration race with the 2018 Camry."
R T., NJ (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very smooth ride. Accelerating and handling great."
Michael L., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"I previously drove a Prius V. The Camry Hybrid, although only slightly more expensive, is quieter, faster, and more comfortable - particularly the seats - and is worth every penny in the increased cost."
Derek W., PA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Excellent acceleration and the most smooth ride I've ever had in a car. The engine is extremely quiet and powerful. It handles and feels like a much more expensive car."
David S., LA (2018 Toyota Camry)"to slow on the take off"
Fred P., NC (2018 Toyota Camry)"The 8 speed transmission and the 4 cylinder engine make a great combination. It has the power of a 6 cylinder but the economy of a four. I am not afraid to merge into highway traffic or to make long trips as the car handles well on these conditions."
Anonymous, NM (2018 Toyota Camry)"The acceleration while not overpowering is quite adequate for my needs, and the car handles in such a way that I am confident that it will do what I want it to do."
Anonymous, FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"super acceleration and handling at all speeds"
Larry B., IA (2018 Toyota Camry)"The electric motor gives it much better acceleration than models without it. The handling is excellent for a sedan of this size."
William F., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Very good acceleration; CVT transmission is great. Handling OK, but this drives like a BIG car compared to the 2004 Toyota Tacoma small pickup."
Anonymous, NM (2018 Toyota Camry)"I love the eight speeds. It has a lot of get up and go for a 4 cylinder car."
Judy C., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"V6 engine is worth every penny. I had to accelerate to avoid a truck with tires falling off at high speed. No problem for my car."
Anonymous, NC (2018 Toyota Camry)"The acceleration is very good, even when driving in the ECO mode."
William E., NV (2018 Toyota Camry)"Handling"
Anonymous, PA (2018 Toyota Camry)"The car can accelerate quickly when needed. It handles well. It makes u-turns in a small turn."
D E., PA (2018 Toyota Camry)"I am not sure I like automatic braking when using cruise control or steering wheel pull when you change lanes"
Anonymous, OK (2018 Toyota Camry)"I was shocked when I discovered how much more acceleration the 2018 has than my former 2001 Camry even though they both have basically the same gas motor. The electric motor has made passing in tight spots much safer and also made it possible to keep up with the traffic flow in mountainous regions. Handling is great so far (summer conditions) - am looking forward to finding out how it handles on snow and ice in winter."
Garry W., MB (2018 Toyota Camry)"It takes effort to accelerate and rhen almost lunges."
Anonymous, NY (2018 Toyota Camry)"acceleration slow. ride and handeling great"
Anonymous, NC (2018 Toyota Camry)"Much better acceleration than 2008 Prius. Enjoy all the safety features- especially lane keeping."
Anonymous, IL (2018 Toyota Camry)"Safety features are well done. Lots of warning systems and breaks and steering are the best ever."
Robert-Barbara L., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"I realize this little 4-cyl is just a step above a sewing machine motor, but if you want to use the ECO setting, it is very inconsistent when accelerating. Sometimes the pedal gets mushy. I have to stay in SPORT mode most of the time to feel safe."
Lisa I., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration is impressive and the ride and handling is super smooth."
Tanya R., CO (2018 Toyota Camry)"Acceleration and handling is great. Nimble and responsive. In sport mode, it delivers a sport sedan experience. Even in economy mode, the response is satisfactory."
Anonymous, OK (2018 Toyota Camry)"I had a 2007 Camry, bought in 3/2006, that I really liked. But my 2018 handles so much better. It has more pick-up. I feel like the steering is more responsive. I have less trouble parking with it."
L T., CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Exclant acceleration from a stop. But if your moving and punch the accelerator it takes a 3 second decelerating lag before resopnding. Unless you are driving in sport mode. I find myself struggling to start or resume cruse control too often. Toggling cruse control main auto shuts off during certain shift modes making it uncertain as to weather it is on or off. Also when driving in cruse control even at max distance if the care ahead makes a right turn the control slams on the breaks to the point that I worry that the care behind me might rear end me. Radio song title scrolls across hud display covering critical driving controls. I would like to see some dedicated indicators for controls and not have the indications move around through the three displays"
Anonymous, CA (2018 Toyota Camry)"Great looks, quick acceleration, quality build, comfortable seating, good gas mileage for a larger car. The safety features are there to help insure safe trip."
John O., GA (2018 Toyota Camry)"The car handles beautifully and has the most incredible safety features to keep you in lane and keep a safe distance from other vehicles. The safety features alone are a great reason to buy this car."
Richard B., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"automatic braking system almost caused and accident, transmission shifting is not smooth"
Tom N., FL (2018 Toyota Camry)"The driving & handling is exceptional. I bought the XLE to get the safety features and i really appreciate those but I was surprised at how much better the whole handling of the car is compared to my 2009 Camry. A great driving car."
Sally L., TN (2018 Toyota Camry)"The 8 speed transmission searches for the correct gear after a brief coast then re application of acceleration as an example. Gives me a very mild whiplash. In general the transmission is not smooth shifting at all. I’m considering selling or trading it in because the transmission bothers me so much."
Steven M., TX (2018 Toyota Camry)"Excellent MPG especially for the size of the car. It fits my driving style very well and has the acceleration when I need it."
Joseph H., WI (2018 Toyota Camry)
"It has a lot of power for getting such good gas mileage."
