What Owners Say

Premature brake wear

"When I brought my Corolla Hybrid in for routine state inspection at 18000 miles I was told it needed brake work."

Anonymous, ME (2021 Toyota Corolla Hybrid Hybrid LE 1.8-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

EV Battery

Electric/hybrid battery pack failure, replacement or malfunction, or cooling.

What Owners Say

Electric/hybrid battery pack malfunction (didn't need replacement)

"I drove my Sport Trac for over two weeks instead of the Corolla. I did not know that a hybrid needs to be driven periodically because the federal government uploads data every 10 days from the vehicle to track the data from the operation of the vehicle. This uses electrical energy from the vehicle. If it is not run to recharge the electrical system the large battery will not have power enough to start the vehicle. Who knew?? Not part of the sales pitch."

Anonymous, AZ (2021 Toyota Corolla Hybrid XLE 1.8-L 4 Cyl hybrid)

In-car Electronics

Infotainment system (audio, GPS, phone), rear entertainment system, backup or other camera/sensors, head-up display.

What Owners Say

Other in-car electronics problem

""Despite using an Apple cord, when directly connecting/hooking up an iPhone to the car, it will not always register that a phone is connected. Sometimes the phone gets a message saying "unlock device to use this accessory". Sometimes the device is already unlocked. Sometimes unlocking the device (iPhone) gets it to work (be connected). However, there are times when, in order to get the iPhone to register with the car so as to use Apple CarPlay, the car has to be shut off and turned on again and then the car will register that the iPhone is connected. We have asked at the Toyota dealer if there are any software updates, etc. and have been told that everything is up-to-date and to make sure the cord is an authentic Apple cord (vs any other USB cord), which the cord is Apple, and yet this problem still persists. This problem has been going on since the car was newly purchased. The problem has never been resolved.""
