Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.

What Owners Say

Problem(s) fueling the tank

"We live on a dirt road. There is some filter connected with the gas tank that keeps getting clogged. This makes the check engine light come on constantly. We had the part replaced 3 times. Repair shop said this is a known problem with this model and year. We had an after market extra part added to fix it. Nothing. No better at all. It takes great patience to fill the tank as the pump keeps shutting off. Car runs. I suspect, but am not certain, that the problem MAY have been caused because there was this plastic shield thing under the trunk that had a fastener come off and was dangling. I removed the whole shield since I couldn't put it back up. Note: we lived in this same location on dirt roads for 3 years with no problem. We moved back out here a year and a half ago without the shield under the trunk and have had nothing but problems. Also, mice were somehow able to get into the trunk and make a nest. I think the shield was important. My dad just reinstalled it last week. We will probably have the filter on the fuel tank replaced one more time and see if the problem is solved. Problem might be the result of my own stupidity for leaving the shield off. I figured it was for accoustics. I guess not."
