Toyota Grand Highlander

Latest Model

2024 Model Redesign Year
The three-row Grand Highlander is longer than the regular Highlander, and it has a more usable third-row seat. It offers three powertrains: a 2.4-liter turbo four-cylinder that yields 22 mpg overall but sounds raspy, a thrifty 2.5-liter hybrid, and a powerful 2.4-liter turbo hybrid. Power from the standard engine is adequate and the ride is comfortable, but handling is short on agility. The Grand Highlander can be configured to hold seven or eight passengers. We found the wide and accommodating front seats comfortable, the second-row bench seat roomy, and the third row much more hospitable to adults than in the regular Highlander. Cargo capacity has also been expanded.
Controls are simple, and the standard 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system is mostly user-friendly.

2024-Present

2024 Model Redesign Year
The three-row Grand Highlander is positioned above the current Highlander and designed to better compete with class leaders like the Honda Pilot, Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride. This all-new SUV offers three powertrains: a base 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that sounds raspy, a thrifty 2.5-liter hybrid, and a powerful 2.4-liter turbocharged hybrid. Unlike most competitors, there is no V6 engine. The Grand Highlander can be configured to hold seven or eight passengers. The third seat is much roomier than it is in the regular Highlander, and it has greater cargo capacity. Power is adequate, the ride is comfortable and handling is decent.
It features the latest Toyota infotainment system, with a 12.3-inch screen. All versions get the Safety Sense 3.0 suite. That includes AEB with pedestrian, cyclist, and motorcyclist detection, AEB highway, BSW, and RCTW. An LE trim and a Nightshade Edition based on the Limited trim were introduced for 2025.
