Toyota Highlander 2014 4-door SUV
Trim Shown: Base
The midsized Highlander SUV, redesigned for 2014, garners top scores in its class. It handles more responsively, the ride remains steady and compliant and the interior is spacious and quiet, with lots of storage nooks. A wider third row allows seating for up to eight, or seven with optional second-row captain's chairs. Its energetic V6 and six-speed automatic averaged a respectable 20 mpg. The new Hybrid version averaged 25 mpg. A four-cylinder is standard in front-wheel drive models. Both of the available infotainment systems are simple to use but some knobs are a bit of a reach. Access is easy front and rear and even a scramble to the third row is not too taxing.
