    Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid

    Latest Model

    2026 Model Redesign Year
The redesigned Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid is one of two offerings from the redesigned RAV4. There is no regular four-cylinder engine. The plug-in hybrid powertrain gained 18 horsepower for 2026, raising its combined output to 320 hp. All-wheel drive is standard. The electric-only range has increased from 42 miles to 50 miles. The PHEV is now available in four trims, adding the Woodland and GR Sport.
All RAV4s have a 12.3-inch instrument panel that can display navigation guidance. The center infotainment screen is either a slim 10.5-inch screen or 12.9-inch screen with onscreen controls for the climate system. The RAV4 introduces Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, with the latest evolution of the brand’s comprehensive suite of safety and driver assistance features.

    2025

    2025 Model Redesign Year
The RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is the RAV4 Prime renamed for 2025. The plug-in system transforms the RAV4 into a quick, quiet, comfortable-riding, and more upscale SUV. It bridges the gap between a hybrid and a pure EV. With its electric drive and 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid produces a combined 302 hp, which makes for brisk acceleration. The added electric power keeps the gas engine from having to rev high, where it can become noisy. The plug-in version has an EPA-estimated 42 miles of electric-only driving range, and it got 34 mpg once it reverted to hybrid mode.
It takes about 2.5 hours to charge the battery on a 240-volt outlet and around 12 hours to charge using the included charger with a standard 120-volt outlet.
