What Owners Say
"The system will not stay connected. I've tried several wires and phones. It is so irritating I've stopped trying to use it."
Anonymous, (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"We were very disappointed to not have a CD Player with the car ....might have changed my mind with leasing this vehical at all."
Anonymous, ND (2019 Toyota RAV4 Unsure 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Toyota Entune is terrible and Scout Navigation System is worse. I've had to use a Garmin placed over top of the navigation device due to the unreliability of the system. The Entune system is unreliable and software updates don't help. The not in USA. Toyota will accept Android play in some 2020 models. I like the vehicle but am terrible disappointed with the whole system and am considering an aftermarket unit.Entune will only operate with Apple Play but not with Android. Updates are being done overseas but not in the USA."
Anonymous, TX (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Infotainment module would not connect to phone so entire module needed to be replaced. Covered by warranty."
Anonymous, MD (2019 Toyota RAV4 LE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"It sometimes gets addresses wrong."
Anonymous, NJ (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"The button on the dash nav. often has to be pushed several times to return to nav. map, just annoying and time does not display. None of this is big deal, just annoying. With COVID-19 I've not gone to a dealer."
Anonymous, MI (2019 Toyota RAV4 Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Navigation system is awful. Information is not current and has gotten me lost or sent me on a circular route numerous times. Total waste of money. Shouldn't have gotten it."
Anonymous, TX (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"WE were not given complete instructions on how to operate the system. It took 3 visits before they were able to make it work. The GPS system has to have my cell phone hocked up to it. It is a real PIA to use."
Anonymous, IN (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"The GPS requires the phone to be connected to the USB port. Otherwise it navigates with text and voice only, no map. Not convenient. And if you want to look at the map while driving, such as see what a road name is with a missing sign, you have to connect the phone. Then you use the Entune map which is not even remotely close to Google Maps, Mapquest, etc. Like a program from some dark age decades ago. Very poor quality. . Connecting and disconnecting is very clunky in my opinion for a Toyota which I consider a fine vehicle. Remote connect to a smartphone was free but they say only for 3 months, now a monthly service charge. No update available for connecting to an Android phone, and presumably there is nothing in the works. Apple phones we hear connect with no problem. But I don't use Apple phones so this has no value to me. Now I pretty much ignore the GPS and just use my phone. It's not worth the effort to try and use the GPS. Entering an address takes a lot of patience, slow response time so by the time you start entering it, you cause an error. Then the time delay for it to restart and be ready for the address to be entered, maddening. Maybe this is 3rd party software but it's installed in a Toyota. My last Camry was a 2005 and I had 340,000 miles on it. I had good reason to buy another Toyota but didn't want to spend $50,000 plus, and have to pay a subscription so I could use my phone with it. Basically just dissapointed with Toyota on this one. Don't know if I'll go back when I decide to buy a vehicle again. If it wasn't for this, I'd say it's a very good vehicle that runs, and rides decent and gets good mileage."
Anonymous, MO (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"1. It prefers to pair with my husband's phone, or just doesn't pair sometimes without physically pressing buttons. 2. It does not have Android though it has Apple which is very inconvenient in this day of technology."
Anonymous, PA (2019 Toyota RAV4 Adventure 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"We can receive/make calls, but the caller/recipient can't hear us."
Anonymous, MN (2019 Toyota RAV4 LE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Maybe this problem of Bluetooth disconnecting is due to Toyota's refusal to provide timely normal over air updates and even time consuming dealership long waits. But the Bluetooth is constantly disconnecting. So I have to re-enter my cellphone data!!"
Anonymous, CA (2019 Toyota RAV4 Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"There is NO clear, concise explanation of how to pair Bluetooth phone items with this system, or what that pairing will accomplish for the driver. The owner's manual is over 700 pages long and would take years to read and completely understand. I finally figured it out via trial and error."
Virginia R., ID (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"We have to keep entering saved phone numbers"
Anonymous, NJ (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Again, there is lack of clear, concise explanations on very simple items such as how to select and save preferred radio stations. Trial and error over a period of 2 months worked much better than trying to read the owner's manual."
Virginia R., ID (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Whenever I do a software update, it causes issues with the volume of the infotainment system, it loses the volume to the point it is barely audible."
Anonymous, (2019 Toyota RAV4 LE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"My new system needed an update, but Toyota refused the normal over air sent update to software."Make a reservation at a Dealership." I did, in home town Burlingame. On time for scheduled appointment, I was told "The appointment is only the exact time to drop off your new Toyota for a regular software update, Not the starting of work on your car, just storage until we get to your car.". This was before CoVid Crisis, so I left and drove miles to Palo Alto Toyota regular free maintenance. They did all the scheduled regular maintenance, EXCEPT for the software update!"Our technis too busy, reschedule another appointment." It has been months since those 2 dealership visits, and my software is still Not Updated!!"
Anonymous, CA (2019 Toyota RAV4 Limited 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Entune Software Update application will not download"
Sheila W., SC (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl hybrid)"Was unable to complete software "update" Had to leave car with dealer overnight to "fix""
Anonymous, CA (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Dealer unable to program auto seat adjust. Vehicle at dealer for 21 days."
Anonymous, (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"I'm told there will not be a software update for use with an Android phone for the 2019 model year RAV4. Although it was mentioned in the dealership, it sounds like this will not happen. Very dissapointed."
Anonymous, MO (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"Same issue, software updates disable the volume."
Anonymous, (2019 Toyota RAV4 LE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)"This also relates to the GPS system, Very difficult to use. Doesn't want to work when you are driving."
Anonymous, IN (2019 Toyota RAV4 XLE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)
"Will not bring up station list on favorites or will sporadically. When restarting the car even when it is plugged in have set it back to station each time. A lot of distraction with trying to re-engage or trouble shoot the lists while driving or waste a lot of time pulling over to get it to work."
