Based on Toyota's Tundra pickup, the Sequoia's main attributes are an impressively smooth and punchy powertrain accompanied by a vast, interior, impressive towing and solid off-road capability. It rides better than the old Sequoia, but still feels truckish. Handling is clumsy too. Fuel economy is respectable for the class, but isn't great.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

Driving Experience

What Owners Say

"For a big SUV, and versus the other available body on frame SUV's, the Sequoia is great in my opinion. BUT, the steering is way too over-boosted, so that freeway driving is not enjoyable. Fix that and tighten the suspension a little, and it would be awesome."

BRANT W., WA (2010 Toyota Sequoia)

"I have not had a car that has this much acceleration since I got married and sold my muscle car."

RICHARD M., CO (2010 Toyota Sequoia)

"Accerleration was very good before recall on air intake system, now not nearly what it uses to be"

SETH-JENNIFER F., TX (2010 Toyota Sequoia)

Comfort

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"The headrests push your head forward and down. They seem to be slanted forward. Very uncomfortable. Also, the passenger seat is too high. unless you are tall, your feet do not reach the floor. your legs get tired on a long trip."

Anonymous, SK (2010 Toyota Sequoia)

"Great trip car"

JAMES H., WI (2010 Toyota Sequoia)

Value

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"Having owned this Sequoia for 6 years, the versatility and reliability are excellent. With the 3rd row seating as comfortable (almost) as the 2nd row, we love using the car for travel with friends (3 couples?..no problem) and family. Space in the car for all your "little items" in all 3 rows is excellent. Car is quiet, powerful, comfortable. Just wish it felt more "buttoned down" in the steering and suspension."

BRANT W., WA (2010 Toyota Sequoia)

Percentage of owners who would definitely purchase that same vehicle again. Owner-satisfaction Ratings are determined by the percentage of those who answered "definitely yes" to the question asked by the Consumer Reports Annual Auto Survey "Considering all factors (price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), would you get this car if you had to do it all over again?". If we don’t have sufficient data, a similar model might be used to form the owner-satisfaction score.
