Based on Toyota's Tundra pickup, the Sequoia's main attributes are an impressively smooth and punchy powertrain accompanied by a vast, interior, impressive towing and solid off-road capability. It rides better than the old Sequoia, but still feels truckish. Handling is clumsy too. Fuel economy is respectable for the class, but isn't great.

Overall Owner Satisfaction

Consumer Reports’ Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey can improve the chances of finding a compatible car match. How? Our survey data reveals whether, all things considered, owners would buy the same car again. The answer to that question is what determines our owner-satisfaction rating, which is a powerful piece of intel because it predicts how well a particular model will satisfy other owners.

"I never feel like I'm lacking power or the ability to go anywhere."

Jason B., IL (2011 Toyota Sequoia)

"Handling is a little goosey when cornering hard. Turn radius is great for a big vehicle."

C K., FL (2011 Toyota Sequoia)

Includes seats, climate control, noise, and ride

What Owners Say

"This is a very comfortable car. I use for both personal and business trips. It is always a favorite for long trips over 100 miles because the interior and seats are very comfortable in any climate or on any road surface."

Anonymous, WI (2011 Toyota Sequoia)

"This vehicle is confidence inspiring on and off road. I always feel like I'm the king of the road. It is 7 years old and still feels current and almost new."

Jason B., IL (2011 Toyota Sequoia)

"the sun roof robs me of three inches of much needed headroom."

Anonymous, WA (2011 Toyota Sequoia)

"Seats are very comfortable."

CHARLES M., TX (2011 Toyota Sequoia)

"The second seat especially, and the rear seat are very comfortable for adults. I was able to transport a car full of bridesmaids without any complaints(at least about the car)."

JOSEPH F., IN (2011 Toyota Sequoia)

Did you get what you wanted relative to the price you paid?

What Owners Say

"I have taken this on many road trips (snow, 4 wheel areas). It has 96k on major repairs."

DORRIE M., ID (2011 Toyota Sequoia)

"It was quite a bit more expensive than a sequoia just a few years older and really had little improvement from my 2005 sequoia. The milage seemed much worse."

ROBERT K., TX (2011 Toyota Sequoia)
