    ""the main motor for automatic sliding door driver side failed. There are two motors, one slides the door and the other makes sure it is latched. Just the slide motor failed. The repair cost is over a $1000, just the motor OEM is about $750. The alternator failed at about 120k mile which I think is not sufficient life. Again cost over $1000 for repair. Break job at 140k by dealer was never done properly but that is service quality and not the vehicle itself.""

    ""Again in Florida, we began to hear a rattle sound coming from the rear of the vehicle when accelerating from a stop. We brought it to a mobility specific repair shop because it is modified for a rear ramp to accommodate a wheelchair passenger. They thought it was a muffler issue and referred us to a localexpert who they use any time repairs are not connected to the modification .. By this time I still hadnt had the steering issue fixed at the dealer. Thought this expert could diagnose and fix both issues. He could not determine where the rear rattle was coming from. He thought one of the rear shocks looked badly worn so I authorized him to change them for about $550. It did nothing to eliminate the rear rattle. He did discover that part or the rear fender that was changed in the initial modification was loose. I returned to the mobility dealer and the repaired that for no additional charge. They had already charged me $280 for their initial inspection that didnt fix any of my problems. I was leaving to come home to Long Island at the end of March and decided since the dealer fixed the steering issue we would live with the rattle until we get home. BTW the so-called expert claimed to have run a muffler shop for 20 years and there was nothing wrong with the muffler. We made the almost 1300mile ride with the rattle on take off but no other issues. As soon as we arrived home I made an appointment with a local mechanic to see if they could diagnose and fix it. At the time do drop off one of the mechanics rode for a short distance to hear the rattle. He definitely heard it and explained he would need to investigate further. I anticipated leaving the car there for a few days. Its a very well respected place. Went home and about one hour later they called to tell its fixed and I could come down to pick it up. It was a muffler pipe problem that they need to weld something to fix. They charged about $240 and the car has been fine since. They did tell me that when and if the muffler needs replacing I should go to a specialty muffler shop because of the modifications in the original car design.""

    "One side door in the rear door stopped working automatically years ago. For a while, the passenger window wouldnt roll up and down correctly that went away on its own. These things are intermittent them radio has done quite strange things blinking its lights off and on off and on, no sound and no ability to control it in anyway at the same time the headlights went dim. I took it to a Toyota dealer and they did a did an overall check and bd said it was a loose terminal on the battery. But I think its happened again with the headlights which is a safety issue. I put several thousand dollars in here in her after getting stuck on a parking lot in South Austin under the heat dome all of that was to address anything that might go wrong so now Im just trying to get everything I can out of her as a safe car, and having headlights go dim is certainly not safe."

    Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2010-2016 4Runner, 2003-2006 Tundra, 2003-2013 Corolla, 2009-2010 Corolla Matrix, 2004-2005 RAV4, 2002-2007 Sequoia, 2011-2013 Sienna, 2008-2012 Scion xB, 2008-2009 Lexus IS-F, 2007-2012 Yaris and Lexus ES350, 2010-2017 Lexus GX460, 2002-2010 Lexus SC430, 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 and 2010-2015 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles. These vehicles had their driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
    What should you do:
    Toyota will notify owners. Depending on the vehicle model, dealers will replace the front driver inflator, front passenger airbag inflator, the airbag assembly, or the front passenger airbag sub-assembly and inflator.     Vantage Mobility International, LLC (Vantage) is recalling certain 2012-2018 AMS Genesis wheelchair vans, built on a Toyota Sienna vehicles. The rubber brake hoses that attach to the rear wheel assembly may be too short, causing them to rub against the rear axle trailing arm.
    What should you do:
    Vantage will notify owners, and dealers will install a set of rear brake hoses that will provide the proper clearance, free of charge. The recall began December 16, 2019. Owners may contact Vantage customer service at 1-800-488-9082.

    If the front passenger seat occupant sensing system is out of calibration, the front passenger airbags may not deploy or they may deploy inappropriately for the passenger's size and position. This could increase the risk of personal injury during the event of a vehicle crash necessitating airbag deployment.

    Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain models interspersed through model years 2009 through 2013 as follows: model year 2009-2012 Tacoma, 4Runner, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Prius, and RAV4; model year 2009-2010 Avalon, FJ Cruiser, and Highlander Hybrid; model year 2010-2013 model year Corolla, Sienna and Tundra; model year 2009-2013 Highlander and Venza; model year 2012 Prius V; and model year 2010-2012 Sequoia. During modification by SET to include accessories such as leather seat covers, seat heaters or headrest DVD systems, these vehicles may not have had the passenger seat occupant sensing system calibration tested.
