    Volkswagen ID Buzz

    Latest Model

    2025 Model Redesign Year
The ID. Buzz electric minivan is a nostalgic tribute to the classic Microbus. Three-row seating comes standard in either six- or seven-passenger configurations. The Buzz uses either a single-motor, 282-hp setup driving the rear wheels or a dual-motor, 335-hp configuration with all-wheel drive. The AWD model has an EPA-rated 231-mile driving range; we got 244 miles during our 70-mph highway-range test, both of which are modest by today's standards. The minivan drives nicely thanks to quick and quiet acceleration, fairly agile handling, and a reasonably comfortable ride.
It isn't easy to get in or out of the front seats due to a wide step that's nearly the same height as the tall floor. Once in, the interior is spacious and seats are comfortable in all rows. The third row is removable but doesn't fold into the floor, hurting practicality. As we found with the ID.4, many of VW's controls are unintuitive and frustrating to use.

    2025-Present

    2025 Model Redesign Year
The Volkswagen ID. Buzz electric van is a nostalgic tribute to the classic Microbus, but it is a decidedly modern vehicle. Three-row seating comes standard, with either six- or seven-passenger configurations. The Buzz uses either a single-motor, 282-hp setup to drive the rear wheels, or a dual-motor, 335-hp configuration with all-wheel drive. Fully charged, rear-wheel-drive models offer 234 miles of EPA-estimated range. AWD models are rated for 231 miles but we got 244 miles in our 70-mph highway range test.
The cabin is nicely furnished and has a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, but controls mirror the ID. 4's, meaning they are unintuitive. The cabin is very roomy and the third row is removable but doesn't fold into the floor like other minivans. Available creature comforts include a massage feature for the front seats. Options include a panoramic sunroof with electrochromic tinting, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon stereo. A full suite of active safety systems is standard.
