About This Brand

Hoover introduced its first vacuum in 1907 and has established itself as one of the most recognizable brands in America. More recently, Hoover was bought from Whirlpool by TTI Floor Care, the owners of Dirt Devil. Hoover sells a wide variety of uprights at mass-market retailers, with models ranging from as little as $50 to $300. It also makes hand and stick vacuums, canister models (about $80 to $300), deep cleaners, central vacuums, bare-floor cleaners, and an outdoor sweeper, though the company is best known for its uprights.

Comment:
Bad Design - Carry Handle Attaches to Bag Cover
If you carry the vacuum by its carry handle and don't keep the vacuum perfectly vertical, you end up holding the carry handle with the bag cover and bag and the vacuum separates and falls. I had my vacuum for four months and while carrying it down the basement stairs, the vacuum separated from the carry handle and hit the stairs and the basement floor and ended in many pieces. Hoover will pay for the labor but not the parts - because its a customer error. Vacuum is too expensive to repair - expensive lesson learned.

I don't know what some people are complaining about. At this price point this unit rocks the house! Everything works as designed and it cleans my carpets just fine. The expanding hose works good however you may not reach the top of a long stairwell. Overall very pleased!

Comment:
HIGH PERFORMANCE FOR PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES OR PETS. THE HEPA FILTER GETS THE ULTRA FINE DUST. WITH THE POWER AND GREAT RESULTS COMES THE COST OF ROBUST WEIGHT. THE SECRET TO GETTING GREAT VACUUMING RESULTS IS TO READ THE DIRECTIONS AND FOLLOW THEM.

JUST TO VACUUM AND NOT KNOW WHEN TO EMPTY OR CLEAN THE HEPA FILTER WILL RESULT IN DISCOURAGEMENT. SO READ THE DIRECTIONS FOR EASIER USE.

GREAT PRODUCT, BUT NOT IDIOT PROOF BECAUSE IDIOTS ARE SO DARNED CLEVER.

BOUGHT IT AT A POPULAR, NATIONAL BIG BOX STORE.
