Kraft Foods Global is recalling 4 million T Discs, the small single-serving packages used with Tassimo coffee brewers. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, the Tassimo T Discs can become clogged during brewing and spray hot liquid and coffee grounds onto consumers and bystanders.
Both safety agencies say there have been 21 reports of the defective discs spraying consumers and bystanders while being used in Tassimo machines. Four of the incidents involved second-degree burn injuries with one of victims being a 2-year old Canadian girl who received the injuries on her face.
Consumers should stop using the recalled espresso T Discs immediately due to the possible burn danger.
