    Detailed Test Results

PHOTO QUALITY. This 24-megapixel mirrorless camera captured images with very good quality. Pictures were very sharp, which means you can see even tiny details and very subtle patterns in the image. In low-light situations without a flash, pictures were not quite as sharp as those of most recommended models. We judged this model very good for outdoor performance, such as shooting landscapes in the daytime; very good for indoor performance, such as photographing a well-lit basketball game in a gym. And good for low-light performance without a flash, such as capturing a birthday party. Photos taken in our low-light performance tests displayed very little image noise; subjects retained correct detail and color.

FLASH. The X-T200 w/ 15-45mm with the 15-45mm kit lens captured flash shots that were good.

LENS. This camera has a standard 3x optical zoom lens. The lens also has very wide-angle (23mm) capability that's very useful for landscapes and group portraits, although you may notice a bit of distortion when you're shooting faces up close, for instance.

IMAGE STABILIZATION. This is an important feature; taking hand-held shots at the telephoto end of the zoom range can generally blur or soften images due to the slight movement of your hands. Shooting telephoto in well-lit scenes, this model did an excellent job of minimizing the effects of camera shake. In low-light settings, it performed excellently and almost never produced blurry photos. Overall, the shake reduction results from our tests were excellent.

SPEED. In terms of performance, the Fujifilm X-T200 w/ 15-45mm powers up in a moderate amount of time. It has a very short interval between shots, which can be important when shooting fast-moving or unpredictable subjects.

    VIDEO. The Fujifilm X-T200 w/ 15-45mm takes good video. It also captures 4K-UHD video at 3840 x 2160 60p or 30i.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS. Like most mirrorless models, this camera does include an electronic viewfinder, which means you have flexibility when composing your photo or video; this viewfinder has very good quality. It has a large 3.4-inch touchscreenLCD, which has very good quality that lets you easily compose your shots and has fine playback of photos and video. Although it has a display with 2,760,000 pixels, which should make it sharper than most in its class, we didn't find that the display stood out from the pack. The display also swivels; this can be helpful when shooting self-portraits or hard-to-reach shots.

    About

The X-T200 w/ 15-45mm is a 24-megapixel camera with a kit lens that has a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 23mm-69mm. It has a 3.4-inch LCD (2,760,000 pixels) that swivels. It also includes an electronic viewfinder, which is helpful when composing in bright light. Because it accepts interchangeable lenses but does not have a mirror and through-the-lens viewfinder, we consider this model a mirrorless SLR-like camera. The camera's kit lens has a maximum aperture of f/3.5. The camera's shutter speed range is 30 seconds to 1/4000 of a second. The X-T200 w/ 15-45mm stores photos and video on SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards but has no on-board storage. It captures images as JPEG or RAW files at a top resolution of 6000 x 4000 and UHD-4K-resolution video as MP4 files at a top resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a frame rate up to 60p or 30i. Like most digital cameras, this model comes with a proprietary rechargeable battery. This mirrorless has 425 autofocus points, 21 exposure modes, and an exposure compensation control that can be set at +/-5 EV. The X-T200 w/ 15-45mm measures 5 inches wide by 3.4 inches high by 2.1 inches deep, and weighs 19 ounces (1.2 pounds) (with battery, memory card, strap, and tested lens).
