    Detailed Test Results

PHOTO QUALITY. This 24-megapixel Point-and-shoot camera captured images with very good quality. We judged this model excellent for outdoor performance, such as shooting landscapes in the daytime; excellent for indoor performance, such as photographing a well-lit basketball game in a gym.

FLASH. The XF10 captured flash shots that were very good. In our distance test, we found the camera's flash could illuminate subjects very well, both near and far. The flash also has excellent, very even coverage.

LENS. The lens has a fixed focal length; it has no zoom capability. The lens also has wide-angle (28mm) capability that's useful for landscapes and group portraits, although you may notice a bit of distortion when you're shooting faces up close, for instance.

IMAGE STABILIZATION. Although this model doesn't have an image stabilizer, it did a good job of minimizing the effects of camera shake in our tests. Shooting with digital telephoto in well-lit scenes, this model did an excellent job of minimizing the effects of camera shake. In low-light settings, its performance was fair and often produced blurry photos. Overall, the shake reduction results from our tests were good.

SPEED. In terms of performance, the Fujifilm XF10 powers up in a moderate amount of time. It has a very short interval between shots, which can be important when shooting fast-moving or unpredictable subjects.

VIDEO. The Fujifilm XF10 takes good video. It also captures 4K-UHD video at 3840 x 2160 60p or 15i. As for sound, it captures very good audio in stereo.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS. Like most point-and-shoot models, this camera does not include a viewfinder, which means you'll need to rely on the LCD to compose your photo or video. This Point-and-shoot is much bigger, thicker and heavier than most in its class. Although this model has many features and controls, this Point-and-shoot is bulky and heavy, which may not make it the best model if you travel a lot.

    About

The XF10 is a 24-megapixel camera with no optical zoom and a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 28mm (fixed). It has a 2.9-inch LCD (1,040,000 pixels). Because of its small size, we consider this model a Point-and-shoot camera. The XF10 stores photos and video on SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards but has no on-board storage. It captures images as JPEG or RAW files at a top resolution of 6000 x 4000 and UHD-4K-resolution video as MOV files at a top resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a frame rate up to 60p or 15i. Like most digital cameras, this model comes with a proprietary rechargeable battery. It also has manual controls and manual focus. The XF10 measures 4.4 inches wide by 2.6 inches high by 1.7 inches deep, and weighs 10 ounces (with battery, memory card, and strap).
