PHOTO QUALITY. This 24-megapixel mirrorless camera captured images with very good quality. Pictures were sharp, which means you can see most details and subtle patterns in the image. In low-light situations without a flash, pictures were sharp. We judged this model very good for outdoor performance, such as shooting landscapes in the daytime; very good for indoor performance, such as photographing a well-lit basketball game in a gym; and very good for low-light performance without a flash, such as capturing a birthday party. Photos taken in our low-light performance tests displayed little image noise; subjects retained most of their correct detail and color.FLASH. The Alpha A6000 w/ 55-210mm OSS with the 55-210mm kit lens captured flash shots that were good. In our distance test, we found the camera's flash could illuminate subjects very well, both near and far. The flash also has very good, even coverage.LENS. This camera includes a 3.8x zoom lens, bit more zoom than a standard 3x.IMAGE STABILIZATION. This is an important feature; taking hand-held shots at the telephoto end of the zoom range can generally blur or soften images due to the slight movement of your hands. Shooting zoom set at 4x in well-lit scenes, this model did an excellent job of minimizing the effects of camera shake. Shooting telephoto in well-lit scenes, this model did a very good job of minimizing the effects of camera shake. In low-light settings, it performed excellently and almost never produced blurry photos. Overall, the shake reduction results from our tests were excellent.SPEED. In terms of performance, the Sony Alpha A6000 w/ 55-210mm OSS powers up in a moderate amount of time.VIDEO. The Sony Alpha A6000 w/ 55-210mm OSS takes excellent video. It captures full HD video at 1920 x 1080. As for sound, it captures very good audio in stereo.ADDITIONAL COMMENTS. Like most mirrorless models, this camera does include an electronic viewfinder, which means you have flexibility when composing your photo or video; this viewfinder has excellent quality. The Alpha A6000 w/ 55-210mm OSS is a 24-megapixel camera with a kit lens that has a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 82.5mm-315mm. It has a 2.9-inch LCD (921,600 pixels). It also includes an electronic viewfinder, which is helpful when composing in bright light. Because it accepts interchangeable lenses but does not have a mirror and through-the-lens viewfinder, we consider this model a mirrorless SLR-like camera. The camera's kit lens has a maximum aperture of f/4.5. The camera's shutter speed range is 30 seconds to 1/4000 of a second. The Alpha A6000 w/ 55-210mm OSS stores photos and video on SD/SDHC/SDXC/MemoryStick Duo memory cards but has no on-board storage.
