Performance: Overall this desktop's performance was only fair, well below that of many models but still good enough for routine tasks like email, word processing and web browsing. Compared to other tested desktops, its speed was adequate for common tasks such as web browsing, video conferencing, and application startup. Performance was okay but on the slow side when composing documents, working on data spreadsheets, and running other productivity tasks, and its speed was adequate for manipulating filters on images, converting and editing videos, and rendering models and calculating simulations.
Ergonomics: The desktop is bundled with a keyboard and mouse. Keyboard letters were high contrast and easy to read, and its keys were comfortably sized. Keyboard features such as media playback and volume control keys add convenience. The keys on the keyboard are slightly concave, making it more comfortable to type on. The corded mouse has a scroll wheel. You can't easily replace the storage drive. The power button is in a convenient location that is unlikely to be pressed accidentally. The case has no LED indicator for storage drive activity.
Display: The display quality was very good overall. Colors were accurately reproduced, realistic, and natural looking. The desktop's display was anti-reflective, so there was little or no glare when viewing in a brightly lit room. It has HDR settings that can show fine detail and is helpful for use in dark rooms. The display has a wide viewing angle, especially important if more than one person needs to see the screen at a time, say, for a video or presentation. Its display has better contrast than on most other tested all-in-ones.
Useful features and attributes on this model include: You can connect common external devices such as backup drives and Blu-ray burners using USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps). Video outputs include: an HDMI full-size port supporting HDMI (vers not spec), a DisplayPort full-size port; these are useful for connecting to a TV or separate monitor.
Downsides: There is no memory-card reader, so you'll need to buy an external reader or connect your digital camera directly to this desktop to transfer photos. There's no optical drive like a CD or DVD reader, so you'll have to buy an external drive if you need one. The chassis has no easy upgradability: neither storage nor memory can be replaced.
