Design and features:Although this Bluetooth wireless home/studio-style over-ear model lacks active noise reduction, the closed design helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The headphones, which are intended to be used with Bluetooth audio devices, also come with a detachable audio cable so it can be used with standard audio devices. When connected via the cord the K845BT has low sensitivity, so while it can provide satisfying volume levels with home audio equipment and higher-powered portable audio devices, it's not a good match for lower-powered non-Bluetooth portables. The K845BT has an integrated microphone plus volume, player function, and integrated call connect/disconnect controls for use with Bluetooth devices. Additional features include NFC Bluetooth pairing and a USB charging cable. This model has earcups that can swivel flat for travel and storage.
Sound quality: The K845BT delivers very good overall sound with a neutral character. Bass has good impact and goes fairly deep, but is prominent, boomy, and lacks definition. Midrange is fairly even, but is a bit etched and gritty. Low- to mid-treble is a bit prominent, while upper treble is slightly rolled off. Note that the sound quality was very dependent on the earpads forming a good seal around the ears; if a good seal isn't achieved, bass and midrange performance suffer (bass becomes recessed and midrange gets tinny). Overall sound is somewhat open, with good dynamics. There was no significant difference in sound quality whether we used a Bluetooth or wired connection.
Comfort: We found that these headphones produce a sense of moderate pressure around the ears, and the earpads might feel hot and/or sticky after prolonged use. Users with small or narrow heads or pronounced depressions around their ears may have problems getting a good seal.
