Design and features:Although this portable ear-insert model lacks active noise reduction, the earplug-like design helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The earphones have medium-high sensitivity, so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with home audio equipment and even lower-powered portable audio devices. The In-Ear Headphones w/ Remote & Mic has a microphone and player controls that work only with some iPod, iPhone, and Blackberry models, and the volume control can be used only with some iPods and iPhones. The phone call connect/disconnect function only works with iPhones and some Blackberry models. Note that the earphones may not operate properly with some non-iPod players or other audio equipment. This model comes with three sets of earpieces of various sizes and a carrying/storage case.
Sound quality: We found the In-Ear Headphones w/ Remote & Mic delivers good overall sound with a slightly warm-to-neutral character. Slightly recessed bass with good impact and definition, prominent, slightly soft and slightly nasal midrange, and detailed treble. Open-sounding treble and upper midrange, but lower midrange and upper bass sound closed-in. Slightly congested. Dynamic.
Comfort: We found that these earphones produce sense of pressure in the ear opening that might be uncomfortable for some. They stay in place with no problems.
