Design and features:Although this portable ear-insert model lacks active noise reduction, the ear plug-like design helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The headphones have high sensitivity so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with lower-powered portable audio devices. The urBeats has an inline volume control that works with iPads and some iPod and iPhone models, plus an integrated microphone and music player function control that are compatible with iPads, some iPods, and some iPhones, as well as with some other cell phones. The call connect/disconnect button can be used with some iPhones and some other cell phones. (Note that these earphones may not operate properly with some non-iPod players or other audio equipment.) This model comes with storage pouch and four pairs of earpieces of various sizes.
Sound quality: We found the urBeats delivers good overall sound, with a warm character. Bass has lots of impact, but is pronounced and boomy. Midrange is even but a bit smoothed over, and it lacks detail. Treble is slightly recessed and rolled off. The overall sound is closed in, with so-so dynamics.
Comfort: We found that these earphones fit and stay in place with no problem, but they produce a sense of pressure in the ear opening that might be uncomfortable for some.
