Design and features:These headphones have medium sensitivity so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with home audio equipment and all but the lowest-powered portable audio devices. The SoundTrue Around-Ear Headphones II have an inline volume control that works with Samsung Galaxy and some other Android mobile devices, plus an integrated microphone and music player function control that are compatible with Android and Apple mobile devices and some other cellphones. The call connect/disconnect button can be used with some Android and Apple mobile devices and some other cellphones. These headphones may not operate properly with some non-Apple/non-Android mobile devices or other audio equipment. This model has earcups that swivel: You can fold them flat for ease of carrying and storage, and comes with a detachable 66-inch long audio cable and a carrying case.
Sound quality: We found the SoundTrue around-ear headphones II deliver sound quality that falls in the very good range: It reproduces music and voice very well although it does have some noticeable sonic quirks. The overall sound can best be summarized as neutral (neither full nor lean) and a bit sterile. Bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has decent impact and definition and goes fairly deep. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even but slightly grainy. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended and fairly detailed, but slightly prominent. The sound has a good sense of liveliness and is somewhat open--sound-wise it almost seems like you don't have anything covering your ears.
Comfort: We found that these headphones produce a sense of light pressure around ears. The earpads might feel hot and/or sticky after prolonged use. The sound is very dependent on the earpads forming a good seal around the ears; if a good seal is not achieved, bass and midrange performance suffers (bass becomes recessed and midrange gets nasal and plasticy sounding). Users with small or narrow heads or pronounced depressions around their ears may have problems getting a good seal.
