Design and features:These headphones can be used wirelessly with Bluetooth devices or can be cord connected. When cord connected they have high sensitivity so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with lower-powered portable audio devices. The P7 Wireless has an integrated microphone and volume, music player function, and call connect/disconnect controls for use with paired Bluetooth devices. This model has earcups that fold for ease of carrying and storage and comes with a detachable 50-inch long standard audio cable for wired use, a USB charging cable, and a carrying pouch.
Sound quality: The P7 has two operation modes: Bluetooth wireless and cord connected. In both of these modes we found that it delivers sound quality that falls in the very good range - it reproduces music and voice very well although it does have some noticeable sonic quirks. In Bluetooth mode the overall sound can best be summarized as bassy, full, and a touch soft. Bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes deep, but is boomy, heavy, and somewhat prominent. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, but is somewhat overwhelmed by the bass. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is detailed and fairly extended, but is somewhat subdued. The sound has a good sense of liveliness and is somewhat open--sound-wise it almost seems like you don't have anything covering your ears. In wire connected mode the sound quality is at the same level, but the sound is a bit different - less bassy, a bit thinner in the midrange and more prominent in the treble.
Comfort: We found that these headphones produce a sense of moderate pressure around the ears. As typical of over-ear models the ear pads might feel hot and/or sticky after prolonged use.
