Design and features:This Bluetooth wireless noise canceling portable ear-insert model provides very good sound and excellent active noise reduction. Its ear plug-like design and electronic noise canceling feature reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The headphones work with or without the noise canceling feature being turned on. You can use the noise-canceling feature without listening to music. The TWS330 NB has a volume control plus an integrated microphone and player function controls. Additional features include - Either earpiece can be used alone for one ear monitoring of Bluetooth streamed audio and telephone communications. Charging/carrying case has built-in rechargeable battery that the manufacturer claims can be used to recharge the earphone batteries for an additional 12 hrs. of playtime for a total of 16 hrs. with ANC on, or for an additional 15 hrs. of playtime for a total of 20 hrs. with ANC off. Manufacturer claims dust and water resistance (IP54). The headphone noise cancellation control default setting switches between ANC on, ANC off, and ambient sound monitor (Pass-through) modes by touch control on Left earbud. Has seven different ambient listening levels. These modes and levels can be changed using the Edifier Connect app. Has touch controls (default settings are Play/pause, next track, call connect/disconnect, noise canceling/ambient sound/off toggle, and low latency game mode). Has low latency game mode which when activated provides better audio sync while playing games or watching videos. Supports compatible digital voice assistants when used with Bluetooth devices that have those capabilities and that, if needed, have the appropriate apps installed. Has quick charge feature: 10 min of charging will provide 1 hour of playtime. The free Edifier Connect app for Apple and Android mobile devices can be used to customize the headphone touch control functions (select any four of the following: player play/pause, next/prev track music player function controls, Bluetooth volume control, ANC/ambient sound mode/off toggle, low latency game mode, and digital voice assistant activation), select noise cancelling modes and update earphones firmware. Bluetooth connected Apple mobile devices using iOS Version 5 and above will show the battery level. The TWS330 NB comes with 5 pairs of ear pieces in various sizes, USB-A to USB-C connector charging cable, charging cradle/recharger battery/carrying case, user guide.
Sound quality: We found the TWS330 NB delivers sound quality that falls in the very good range - it reproduces music and voice very well although it does have some noticeable sonic quirks and excellent active noise reduction. With the noise cancelling mode engaged the bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes deep, but is somewhat prominent and ranges from somewhat boomy to boomy depending on the program material. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, a bit grainy and congested (think sonic traffic jam), and depending on the program material can be a bit overwhelmed by the bass. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended, but is a bit prominent and sizzly (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer have a sound reminiscent of bacon frying), and somewhat smeared. While the sound has a good sense of liveliness, it is somewhat closed (sound-wise it's fairly obvious you have something plugging your ears) does a decent job of recovering room ambience, but is somewhat closed sounding. Mixed character - warm bass with neutral midrange and coolish treble. The overall sound can best be summarized as bassy and a bit grainy. Excellent noise reduction across the entire frequency range with the low frequencies reduced the most. The noise canceling feature does not produce any background noise that can be heard when there is no audio program to drown it out.
Comfort: As typical of in-ear models they produce a sense of pressure in the ear canal opening that might be uncomfortable for some. Users with small ear bowls might find that the earphone body feels a bit bulky in their ear bowl and that they feel like they may lever out of place, but that they will stay in place during casual use and are stable during fairly vigorous head movement. Users with medium to larger sized ear bowls will probably find that this model stays in place with no problems for casual use and that they are stable even during vigorous head movement. Some users might find pressing the various earphone controls drives the earphones farther into the ear canal and may cause ear discomfort. Incidental contact with the touch controls can cause unintentional pausing. Hitting the stem that hangs out of the ear can knock an earphone loose and cause it to fall out of the ear.
