This home/studio-style model sports a fairly basic design. Given its open-air design and on-ear fit, it doesn't muffle outside sounds so you'll be able to hear a door bell ring, train announcement, or car horn when you are wearing the headphones. The headphones have medium sensitivity so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with home audio equipment, and all but the lowest powered portable audio devices. The headphones come with a mini-plug to-1/4-inch plug adapter.
Sound quality: We found the SR60i delivers very good overall sound with a warm character. Bass sounded slightly boosted, with good impact, but wasn't quite as defined as the best models. Treble was slightly recessed, but had good detail. There was slight graininess in the midrange, and the boosted bass can sometimes overwhelm the detail in the lower midrange. Dynamics were a bit compressed.
Comfort: We found that these headphones were comfortable, with some sense of pressure on the ears. The foam earpads might feel hot after prolonged use.
