    Detailed Test Results

    Design and features:

This Bluetooth wireless portable ear-insert model provides good sound. Although it lacks active noise reduction, the ear plug-like design helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The Champion has an integrated microphone and player function controls. Additional features include either earpiece can be used alone for one ear monitoring of Bluetooth streamed audio and telephone communications. Charging/carrying case has built-in rechargeable battery that the manufacturer claims can be used to recharge the earphone batteries for an additional 20 hrs. of playtime for a total of 28 hrs. (Manufacturer claims different battery life info in Technical specs on website - claims Battery Life: Max 6hrs (24hrs with Case). 8/28 listed on website and on box) Manufacturer claims water resistance (IPX4). Has music player play/pause, call connect/disconnect, next/prev track music player function controls, and digital voice assistant activation. Has Bluetooth connection, low battery and power off alert tones. Has quick charge feature: 15 min of charging will provide 2 hr. of playtime. Supports compatible digital voice assistants when used with Bluetooth connected devices that have those features. Bluetooth connected Apple mobile devices using iOS Version 5 and above will show the battery level. This model comes with 2 pairs of ear pieces in various sizes, USB-A to USB-C connector charging cable, charging cradle/recharger battery/carrying case, Quick Start Guide, Warranty Booklet, Welcome Card, and Sticker.

    Sound quality:

We found the Champion delivers sound quality that falls in the good range - it reproduces music and voice reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. The bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes fairly deep, but is somewhat prominent and a bit boomy. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, but is somewhat grainy, and etched (a bit more sharply outlined then it should be), and a bit sibilant. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended but is sizzly (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer have a sound reminiscent of bacon frying) and somewhat prominent. The sound also has a good sense of liveliness and is somewhat open--sound-wise it almost seems like you don't have anything plugging up your ears and does a decent job of recovering room ambience. Mixed character - warm bass with coolish midrange and treble. The overall sound can be summarized as somewhat bassy, "steely", and somewhat grainy.

    Comfort and Fit:
We found that these earphones as typical of in-ear models produce a sense of pressure in the ear canal opening might be uncomfortable for some. Users with small earbowls will probably find that the earphone body feels bulky in their earbowl and that they stick out too far and feel like they may lever out of place and are mostly held in place by the section of the earphone that is inserted in the ear canal; some will find that this model stays in place during casual use, but tends to shake loose during vigorous head movements, others will find that they don't stay in place even for casual use. Users with medium sized ear bowls will probably find that this model fits and stays in place with for casual use, but vigorous head movements may cause them to shake loose. Users with larger sized ear bowls will probably find that this model fits and stays in place with no problems for casual use and that they are stable even during fairly vigorous head movement. Some uses might find pushing the control buttons to actuate the functions drives the earphone further into the ear canal and causes ear discomfort.
