Design and features:The YK-T02 an integrated microphone and music player and call connect/disconnect controls for paired Bluetooth devices. The right and left earpieces can be used together for Bluetooth streamed audio and telephone communication, or separately for one ear monitoring of Bluetooth streamed audio. The left earpiece can also be used alone for one ear Bluetooth telephone communications. This model is claimed by the manufacturer to be water resistant and comes with seven pairs of ear pieces of various types and sizes, a USB charging cable, a charging cradle/recharger battery/carrying case that the manufacturer claims can be used to recharge the earphone batteries up to three times between its own charges, and a storage bag.
Sound quality: We found the YK-T02 delivers sound quality that falls in the fair range, meaning that it has sonic shortcomings that leave a lot to be desired when listening to music but don't rule it out for dialog and communication. The overall sound can best be summarized as murky and very bassy. Bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) goes deep, but lacks detail, has exaggerated impact, and is prominent and boomy. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is hazy, grainy, dark (there is an opaqueness that covers up fine detail), and overwhelmed by the bass. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is subdued, slightly smeared (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer sound blurred), and the upper treble is muted. While the sound has a good sense of liveliness it is closed-in (sound-wise it is obvious that you have something plugging your ears).
Comfort: As typical of in-ear models these earphones produce a sense of pressure in the ear canal opening might be uncomfortable for some. Users with small and medium sized ear bowls will probably find that this model fits and stays in place with no problems for casual use, and that they stay in place during vigorous head movements, but some users may find that they don't feel secure. Users with larger sized ear bowls may find that this model fits and stays in place with no problems for casual use, but they will not stay in place during vigorous head movement. Some uses might find pushing on the controls to actuate the various functions drives the earphone further into the ear canal and causes ear discomfort. The earphones are difficult to get out of the charging case.
