Design and features:These earphones have an integrated microphone and volume, music player function, and call connect/disconnect controls for use with paired Bluetooth devices. The Elite 25e uses a collar/earphone design - all of the electronics and controls are incorporated into an open flexible collar that sits around the neck, and the earphones are attached to wires that extend from the collar. When the earphones are not in use they can be dangled from the collar and magnetically attached to each other. Additional features include a vibrating alert when receiving incoming phone calls and support for Siri, Google Now, and Cortana digital voice assistants when Bluetooth paired with devices that have those features. This model is claimed by the manufacturer to be water resistant and comes with three pairs of ear pieces in various sizes and a USB charging cable. The free Jabra assist app for Apple and Android mobile devices has a locator function that can be used to find the earphones if they are misplaced.
Sound quality: We found the Elite 25e delivers sound quality that falls in the very good range - it reproduces music and voice very well although it does have some noticeable sonic quirks. The overall sound can best be summarized as somewhat bassy and grainy. Bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes fairly deep, but is somewhat prominent and boomy. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, but somewhat grainy and a bit hazy. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is fairly extended but a bit smeared (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer sound blurred). The sound has a decent sense of liveliness and is somewhat open -- sound-wise it almost seems like you don't have anything plugging up your ears.
Comfort: These earphones are a hybrid ear insert/ear bud design - the earpieces seal the ear canals but they don't insert into the ear canals as far as typical ear insert models, and they are supported by the ear bowls like a ear bud model rather than the ear canals. While the earphones stay in place with no problem, getting the best ear canal seal may take some fiddling and without a good seal the bass will suffer. The collar is not generally noticeable and is very convenient unless it interferes with clothing. When the earphones are not in the ears they can be clipped together magnetically and dangled from the collar to rest on the chest where they will swing out away from the body when leaning over; this can be bothersome or expose them to damage.
