Design and features:The Live Large has an integrated microphone and volume, music player, and call connect/disconnect controls for use with paired Bluetooth devices. This model is claimed by the manufacturer to be water resistant and comes with three pairs of ear pieces in various sizes, one pair of removable ear hooks, and a USB charging cable.
Sound quality: We found the Live Large delivers sound quality that falls in the Fair range, meaning that it has sonic shortcomings that leave a lot to be desired when listening to music but don't rule it out for dialog and communication. The overall sound can best be summarized as somewhat muffled and bassy. Bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes fairly deep, but is somewhat prominent and boomy. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, but is somewhat muffled. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is subdued. While the sound has a decent sense of liveliness it is somewhat closed-in (sound-wise it is somewhat obvious that you have something plugging your ears) and it only does a so-so job of recovering the room ambience of a recording (the sense of the acoustic space in which the audio program that's being listened to was recorded).
Comfort: As typical of in-ear models they produce a sense of pressure in the ear canal opening that might be uncomfortable for some. They fit and stay in place with no problem for casual use. The ear hooks increase the sense of stability so the earphones will stay in place even during vigorous head movements, but users with smaller ears may find that the earhooks do not provide support at the top of their ears. The sound of the earphone connecting cable rubbing on clothing may be transmitted by the earphones.
