Design and features:Although this Bluetooth wireless home/studio-style on-ear model lacks active noise reduction, the closed design helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. When used with a wired connection the headphones have medium sensitivity so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with home audio equipment and all but the lowest-powered portable audio devices. The S400BT has an integrated microphone and built-in volume, music player function, and call connect/disconnect controls for use with paired Bluetooth devices. Additional features include NFC Bluetooth pairing and earcups swivel and fold for ease of storage/transport. This model comes with a detachable 47-inch long audio cable for wired use, a USB charging cable, and a carrying case.
Sound quality: We found the S400BT delivers fair overall sound. Bass goes deep, but has excessive impact, is very pronounced, and is very boomy. Midrange is thin and nasal. Treble is extended but uneven - lower and mid treble is recessed while upper treble is pronounced and sizzly. Closed sounding midrange with open sounding treble. Decent dynamics. The overall charactor is mixed - the bass is warm while the midrange and treble are neutral. The sound is very similar in both Bluetooth and cord-connected modes.
Comfort: We found that these headphones produce a sense of moderate pressure on the ears. The ear pads might feel hot and/or sticky after prolonged use.
