Design and features:Although this Bluetooth wireless portable ear-insert model lacks active noise reduction, the ear plug-like design helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The Epic BT has a built-in microphone and integrated volume, music player function, and call connect/disconnect controls for use with paired Bluetooth devices, and the manufacturer claims that the earphones are water resistant. This model comes with six pairs of ear pieces in various types and sizes, a USB charging cable, and a carrying/cellphone pouch with belt clip.
Sound quality: The Epic BT delivers sound quality that falls in the very good range, with a bassy, full character. It is a decent choice for the more critical listener for both music and movie soundtrack playback though it has a few noticeable sonic quirks. Bass (the tonal region that more or less covers bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes deep, but is prominent compared to the rest of the tonal range and is boomy. Midrange (the tonal range that more or less covers voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, but somewhat soft. Treble (the tonal range that covers cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended, but sizzly (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer instead are reminiscent of bacon frying). While the sound has a decent sense of liveliness it is somewhat closed in (lacks a sense of openness, making you well aware that sound-wise earphones are plugging your ears).
Comfort: We found that these earphones fit and stay in place with no problems and feel very stable even with vigorous head movement, but they produce a sense of pressure in the ear opening that might be uncomfortable for some.
