Design and features:These earphones have medium sensitivity so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with home audio equipment and all but the lowest-powered portable audio devices. The JBuds Pro has an integrated microphone and a player function control that are compatible with iPads, some iPods, and some iPhones and some other cellphones. The call connect/disconnect button can be used with some iPhones and some other cellphones. These earphones may not operate properly with some non-Apple/non-Android mobile devices or other audio equipment. This model comes with three pairs of ear pieces and two ear-bowl supports in various sizes, and a removable shirt clip.
Sound quality: We found the JBuds Pro delivers sound quality that falls in the good range - it reproduces music and voice reasonably well, despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. The overall sound can best be summarized as thin and sometimes harsh. Bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has decent impact, but is somewhat soft, slightly subdued, and the lower bass is lacking. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is thin, and somewhat grainy, congested (think sonic traffic jam), and hazy. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended, but is prominent, sizzly (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer have a sound reminiscent of bacon frying), and can be overbearing to the point of harshness on some program material. While the sound has a good sense of liveliness, it is closed-in -- sound-wise it is obvious that you have something plugging up your ears.
Comfort: We found that these earphones fit and stay in place with no problem when used without the ear-bowl supports; when the ear-bowl support ear pieces are used, the fit is very stable, even with vigorous head movement. They produce a sense of pressure in the ear opening that might be uncomfortable for some.
