Design and features:Although this portable ear-insert model lacks active noise reduction, the ear plug-like design helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The earphones also have medium-high sensitivity, so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with home audio equipment and even lower powered portable audio devices. The IL200 ktc has an inline volume control that works with iPads and some iPod and iPhone models, plus an integrated microphone and player function controls that are compatible with iPads, some iPods, and some iPhones and some other cellphones. The call connect/disconnect button can be used with some iPhones and some other cellphones. These earphones may not operate properly with some non-iPod players or other audio equipment. An additional feature is an interlocking design that lets you snap the earphones together so they can be hung around the neck when not in use. This model comes with three pairs of earpieces of various sizes.
Sound quality: We found the IL200 ktc delivers good overall sound quality, with a warm character. The very prominent, blubbery bass has lots of impact but lacks definition. Midrange is smooth and even, but is a bit recessed and muffled. Treble is extended, but more recessed than the midrange. Overall sound is closed in and dark, with compressed dynamics.
Comfort: We found that these earphones fit and stay in place with no problems, but they produce a sense of pressure in the ear opening that might be uncomfortable for some.
