Sound quality: We found the M-TWE True Wireless Earbuds delivers sound quality that falls in the very good range - it reproduces music and voice very well although it does have some noticeable sonic quirks and excellent active noise reduction. With the noise cancelling mode engaged the bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes deep, but is prominent and boomy, and depending on the program material, can overwhelm the midrange. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even but is soft, somewhat grainy and dark, and a bit congested. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is fairly extended but is a bit prominent and somewhat sizzly (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer have a sound reminiscent of bacon frying). Does a so-so job of recovering room ambience, but is somewhat closed sounding. Good dynamics. Warm character. The overall sound can be summarized as bassy, soft and somewhat dark. Noise Canceling: Excellent noise reduction across the entire frequency range with the low frequencies reduced the most. A faint rushing sound can be heard in very quiet environments when there is no audio program material to mask it.
Comfort: We found that these earphones as typical of in-ear models produce a sense of pressure in the ear canal opening that might be uncomfortable for some. Users with small ear bowls will probably find that the earphone body feels like they stick out too far and may lever out of place and are mostly held in place by the section of the earphone that is inserted in the ear canal, but otherwise they feel stable enough even during fairly vigorous head movements. Users with medium and large sized ear bowls will probably find that this model stays in place with no problems for casual use and that they are very stable even during fairly vigorous head movement. Incidental contact with the touch controls can cause unintentional volume level or noise cancellation settings changes. Some users might find pressing the various earphone controls drives the earphones farther into the ear canal and may cause ear discomfort.
