Design and features:These earphones have high sensitivity so they can provide satisfying volume levels when used with lower-powered portable audio devices. The SE-CH9T has an integrated microphone and player function controls that are compatible with iPads, some iPods, and some iPhones and some other cellphones. The call connect/disconnect button can be used with some iPhones and some other cellphones. These earphones may not operate properly with some non-Apple/non-Android mobile devices or other audio equipment. This model comes with three pairs of ear pieces in various sizes, detachable 48-inch long audio cable, and a carrying bag.
Sound quality: We found the SE-CH9T delivers sound quality that falls in the very good range - it reproduces music and voice very well although it does have some noticeable sonic quirks. The overall sound can be summarized as slightly bassy but otherwise a bit lean. Bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes deep, but is a bit prominent. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, but a touch grainy and the vocal range is a bit thin. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is a bit prominent, and the lower treble is a bit smeared (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer sound blurred) while the upper treble is a bit sizzly (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer have a sound reminiscent of bacon frying). The sound has a good sense of liveliness and is somewhat open -- sound-wise it almost seems like you don't have anything plugging up your ears.
Comfort: As typical of in-ear models the SE-CH9T produces a sense of pressure in the ear canal opening might be uncomfortable for some. They stay in place in the ears with no problem, but when fitting them some users might fumble with the over-the-ear cable routing.
