Design and features:The SportclipAIR has an integrated microphone and volume, music player function, and call connect/disconnect controls for use with paired Bluetooth devices. Additional features include over-the-ear cable routing with adjustable earhooks, and the manufacturer claims it is water resistant. This model comes with four pairs of ear pieces in various sizes, a USB charging cable, and a storage bag.
Sound quality: We found the SportclipAIR delivers sound quality that falls in the fair range, meaning that it has sonic shortcomings that leave a lot to be desired when listening to music but don't rule it out for dialog and communication. The overall sound can best be summarized as tinny and telephone-like. Bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has so-so impact and even moderately deep bass is lacking. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is congested (think sonic traffic jam), grainy, nasal, and hazy. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended, but smeared (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer sound blurred). The sound is closed-in (sound-wise it is very obvious that you have something plugging up your ears) and lacks a bit of liveliness.
Comfort: We found that these earphones fit and stay in place with no problems and once the ear hooks are adjusted the ear pieces are very stable even with vigorous head movement, but they produce a sense of pressure in the ear opening that might be uncomfortable for some.
