Sound quality:We found the AONIC 215 GEN 2 delivers sound quality that falls in the very good range - it reproduces music and voice very well although it does have some noticeable sonic quirks. With the ShurePlus Play app set with EQ off and ambient noise monitoring off (the as received state of the headphone) the bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes deep, but is a bit boomy. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, but a bit grainy, hazy, and congested. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended, but a bit smeared and dry. The sound also has a good sense of liveliness and is open--sound-wise it seems like you don't have anything plugging up your ears and does a decent job of recovering room ambience. Neutral character. The overall sound can be summarized as slightly bassy and a bit hazy. The tone settings of the app do have a noticeable effect on the sound of these earphones.
Comfort and Fit:We found that these earphones as typical of in-ear models they produce a sense of pressure in the ear canal opening might be uncomfortable for some.
Users will probably find that this model stays in place with no problems for casual use and that they are very stable even during vigorous head movement but it may take some fumbling to get them in place.
The control button assembly at the end of the hook behind the ear may feel cumbersome to some users.
Some users might find pushing control button located at the end of the hook behind the ear that actuates the functions drives the button assembly into the bone behind the ear.
