Sound quality: We found the Indy ANC delivers sound quality that falls in the good range - it reproduces music and voice reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound and excellent active noise reduction. With the Skullcandy app EQ set to Music (as received state of the earphone) and the noise cancelling mode engaged bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has excessive impact and goes deep, but is excessively prominent and boomy. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, but is somewhat grainy, hazy and congested, and a touch etched (a bit more sharply outlined then it should be), and is somewhat overwhelmed by the bass. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended but is slightly prominent and sizzly (sounds that should have a delicate shimmer have a sound reminiscent of bacon frying). While the sound has a decent sense of liveliness, it is somewhat closed (sound-wise it's fairly obvious you have something plugging your ears) and does a decent job of recovering room ambience. Warm character. The overall sound can be summarized as very bassy and somewhat grainy. The EQ settings of the app do have a noticeable effect on the sound of these earphones. Noise Canceling: Excellent noise reduction across the entire frequency range with the low frequencies reduced the most. Orientation does not significantly change the noise reduction characteristic. A faint rushing sound can be heard in quiet environments when there is no audio program to drown it out.

Comfort: As typical of in-ear models they produce a sense of pressure in the ear canal opening might be uncomfortable for some. Users with medium and larger sized ear bowls will probably find that this model fits and stays in place with no problems for casual use and that they are very stable even during vigorous head movement.
