Design and features:The Run Free Pro has an integrated microphone and built-in volume, music player function, and call connect/disconnect controls for use with Bluetooth paired devices. This model is claimed by the manufacturer to be water resistant, can be worn with connecting cable routed below the ears or over the ears, and comes with three pairs of ear pieces in various sizes, three pairs of earbowl supports of various sizes, a USB charging cable, and a carrying case.
Sound quality: We found the Run Free Pro delivers sound quality that falls in the very good range - it reproduces music and voice very well although it does have some noticeable sonic quirks. The overall sound can best be summarized as lean, sizzly, and bassy. Bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has good impact and goes fairly deep, but is a bit prominent and boomy. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is slightly thin, and a bit edgy and grainy. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended, but prominent and sizzly - sounds that should have a delicate shimmer have a sound reminiscent of bacon frying. The sound has a good sense of liveliness and is somewhat open -- sound-wise it almost seems like you don't have anything plugging up your ears.
Comfort: We found that these earphones fit and stay in place with no problems and that the ear bowl support ear pieces are very stable even with vigorous head movement, but they produce a sense of pressure in the ear opening that might be uncomfortable for some.
