Design and features:This Bluetooth wireless home/studio-style on-ear model provides good sound. Although it lacks active noise reduction, the closed design helps to reduce both outside noise and sound leaking out into your environment. The headphones (delete if sensitivity statement is missing) The S-80 has a volume control plus an integrated microphone and player function controls. Additional features include - Magnetically attached replaceable ear pads. Ear cups swivel for use as personal speaker system. Magnetically attached cosmetic ear cup covers can be purchased separately to customize headphones appearance. Has volume, music player transport, call connect/disconnect, power on/off and voice assistant controls on the right ear cup. Supports compatible digital voice assistants when used with Bluetooth connected devices that have those features. Has Bluetooth pairing memory for up to 2 source devices. Headphones swivel and face outward to be used as a personal speaker system. When facing outwards, headphones enter into "Loud Mode" and volume will be boosted. When Headphones are facing towards ears they enter into "Low Mode" for normal headphone listening levels. The V-MODA app download for Apple and Android mobile devices shows the headphone battery level and can be used to adjust the tonal balance of the earphones using tonal presets or user adjustable EQ, disable/adjust the auto power off timer, and update the headphone's firmware. Bluetooth connected Apple mobile devices using iOS Version 5 and above will show the battery level. Sound quality:We found the S-80 delivers sound quality that falls in the good range - it reproduces music and voice reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. With the V-Moda app EQ presets set to Off (as received state of the earphone) the bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) goes deep but has excessive impact, is very thuddy with a "boingy" (like a bouncing spring) quality, and with some program material can be rumbly. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is fairly even, but is somewhat grainy, hazy, and congested (think sonic traffic jam), and with some program material can be overwhelmed by the bass. The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is extended, but is subdued and somewhat smeared. While the sound has a good sense of liveliness, it is closed (sound-wise it's obvious you have something plugging your ears) and does a decent job of recovering room ambience but is closed sounding. Warm character. The overall sound can be summarized as very bassy and somewhat grainy and hazy. The tone settings of the app do have a noticeable effect on the sound of these headphones.
Comfort and Fit:We found that these headphones produce a sense of moderate pressure on the ears.
As typical of on-ear models the ear pads might feel hot and/or sticky after prolonged use.
Some users may find that this model feels heavy on the head.
Large
Users with larger heads might find that the headband does not have enough adjustment range resulting in the headband pressing uncomfortably on the top of the head and/or the ear cups not sitting properly on the ears; the less-than-ideal fit on the ears might interfere with the ear pad seal.
Stability
Users may find that when they lean far forward the headphones feel unstable and shift forward to the point of falling off.
Other noise
When wearing this model while walking the muffled vibrations from each foot step can be heard through the headphones.
