Overall this model was somewhat easy to use and did not do a good job for counting steps. With recent version iPhones, our experts found it somewhat easy to pair, somewhat difficult to interact with, and likewise for recent version Android phones, very easy to pair, and somewhat difficult to interact with. It is very easy to attach to the body and in our water immersion test it passed the manufacturer's claim of 164 feet.

The Garmin Vivofit jr. 2 is a band based fitness tracker with a 0.5 inch color LCD display and has steps and sleep tracking. The manufacturer claims a battery life of 1 year and it is available in adjustable band ages 6 and up sizes. It has an accelerometer sensor and includes inactivity alerts which remind you to move if you are sitting for a long time. It has extra features such as: Kid friendly device, parent controlled app, can create and assign chores while monitoring progress and assign coins earned to receive rewards, Toe-to-Toe challenges, stopwatch, and easy to choose count-down timers 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 30 minutes. Be careful which model you buy because they come with different straps; a "Stretchy" for ages 4-7 and a larger strap with classic railroad style watch band for ages 6 and above. Its dimensions are 0.8 x 0.4 inches (width/thickness) and it weighs 0.8 ounces.
