Sound quality: Edifier's R1380DB (pair) had very good overall sound quality - although it has some noticeable sonic quirks, this model reproduces music and dialog very well. The bass has good impact and goes fairly deep and is a touch prominent and a bit boomy. Midrange is even, but is a touch grainy, hazy, constricted and congested. Treble is fairly extended and is a touch smeared and sizzly. Does a decent job of recovering room ambience and is a touch congested.
Volume:
Provides a decent volume level in a large sized room. The two channel sound field extends a bit above and to the sides of the sides of the speaker enclosures. Because these are two separate speakers they can be placed to provide better stereo separation than many other models. Individual instruments and voices are identifiable and have a two dimensional.
Ease of use: We found the R1380DB (pair) ease of use to be very good overall.
